I'm starting Phase 2 - a little nervous

  • Phase I has been very good to me. My voracious sugar cravings are gone and good riddance to them.

    What is the first food(s) you added back?
  • I'm going to be starting Phase 2 in one week. My plan is to add one serving of fruit back in for my afternoon snack. Probably strawberries or cantaloupe. I will try that for a week or 2 then try a small serving of whole wheat grains for the next two weeks and call that good.
  • Can I be completely honest? Red wine. I added back my glass of wine instead of starchy carbs. It was the one think I couldn't find a substitute for.
  • Blueberries for an after dinner treat. I held off on grains for a while - they are more of a problem for me than fruit.
  • Steel cut oats! I was soooo tired of gagging down eggs for breakfast. I'm a cereal nut.
  • An apple with peanut butter in the afternoon.... I couldn't believe how sweet that first bite of apple tasted to me. It's still my favorite afternoon snack....

    When I went into Phase 2 when we were on the beach a few years ago, I was more than just a little nervous... I stayed on Phase 1 for an extra week because I was so scared... but it went fine... I had a one pound gain the first week I added grains, but the next week that pound was gone and took a couple of it's "friends" with it.

    This time around I didn't hesitate... I added my serving of fruit on Day 15.... no problem....
  • Grains do freak me out a bit, but I am thinking I need the fiber. Still having bathroom troubles, even though I have added fiber and Flax seed oil and upped my water intake. :P
  • PinkHoodie, the grains helped me SO much in the bathroom department! I feel so much better.
  • Grapes where the first thing I added back this time. And I'm taking it super slow moving to phase 2. A few grapes this week and a veggie/pasta side serving yesterday that had maybe 2 T pasta and a whole lot more veggies.
