I am so sorry to hear this news, and know you must be devastated. I'm so glad that you have each other to lean on. When I've lost someone, I've tried to focus on the happy memories I have of that person and that helps me cope. It's so easy to "fall off the wagon" in times like this, but in the long run, you just feel worse. I'll keep you in my prayers and thoughts.

Thank you everyone. The family decided they weren't going to do any kind of a memorial service for them (long ugly story) so we put together a memorial service on Friday to add to our normal Sunday service. It turned out very nice and really helped all of us with closure. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers.

joycemmn - I can't remember where things are in scripture to save me so I asked my pastor and off the top of his head he suggested 1 Corinthians 13:12. I listed it below in the NIV and Message versions.

NIV - 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Message - 12We don't yet see things clearly. We're squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won't be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We'll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!
