Keeping up with measurements

Anyone else tracking their measurements? I am so glad I did, because the scale was unkind to me this morning but I took my measurements (which I plan on doing the 1st of every month from here on out), and....

...a total of 12 inches GONE! :carrot:

I lost at least an inch from every area except my calves (which were not that big to being with, I carry it all in my belly and boobs). I lost a lot of abdominal fat, went down to a true 42DDD, and lost in the arms and thigh as well!

I gotta say, I am glad I took my starting measurements. SBD keeps it's promise of losing abdominal fat. I am so psyched about this and cannot wait until March to measure again, although I know I will not see those big results every month. So, if you aren't tracking measurements, START! You will not regret it!

Awesome!

I am measuring on the first of the month. But only chest, waist and hips. I wish I had done more. It is easy to track them on fitday.com.

Great job, I too have been measuring I lost a total of 9.5 inches in the month of January but only 4 lbs off the scale so I am really excited about that. It is what is keeping me going even if the scale is being evil.

Yes, I wish I had measured on January 4 when I started SB. I vaguely remember some old measurements I had taken over the summer when I was doing WW. Seems like I lost 3 inches off my hips and 2 inches off my upper arm but nothing off my waist. Wish I could find what I had actually written down then. Anyway, I measured on 2/1 and I'll measure again on 3/1.

Congrats! When I was watching more closely I would find that many times I would shrink in inches before it would transfer to lost pounds on the scale. Great to keep measurements and even better not to be discouraged when the scale isn't reflecting your hard work.

I measure my waist and hips regularly in maintenance to keep me on track. Makes more sense to me than weight which can fluctuate day to day.

I wish i had begun measuring when i started, but i didn't. I'm going by how my clothes fit and my size 10s are getting baggy and my size 8s are starting to fit again. I'm never sure where to measure or if you can do it by yourself....

I measured about a week after I started...so I'll be measuring again this weekend. I can't wait to see the results! I measured upper arm, bust, waist, gut, hips and upper thigh. I measured gut because it sticks out further than my actual waistline...so, wanted to keep tabs on that too! I definitely see a difference in my "muffin top"...or as I call it...my hang belly...lol bleh!

Hello Nurse 02-03-2010 09:16 PM

I am so glad I am not the only one with 2 abdominal measurements! I measure my true waist as well as my muffin top. One thing I just realized is that I forgot to measure hips. Probably because I am not hippy even at my largest. I have a flat butt and no hips and carry it all in my belly!

Me three! I measure my waist at its thinnest and then across my belly-button. And I do my hips at two spots too:)

I measured my waist and hips that first week - it always seems like a chore to measure so that's all I bothered with. :o I measured again at the end of phase 1 and was amazed at how much I'd lost from my belly. (I'm apple shaped.) I didn't think about measuring again until yesterday, and only thought of it then because I realized it was my "4 months on plan anniversary".

I've still got lots of inches to loose but I was so excited to see that my waist is smaller than my hips again. :) I'm no Barbie doll that's for sure but somehow I feel more 'girly' when I've got a waist. lol

I realize that my belly was bigger than my hips a couple days ago, when I was looking an my first mesuremts , It is awesome to see your waist getting smaller.

When the scale is not cooperating , i pull of me tape and my old cloths and my new and star to try everything , my almost 3 years baby star asking me " mom where are we going ? jajaja :smug:

That's very sweet! I like your new picture!

So...the more things I measure, the more inches I can lose, right? lol I better start measuring more body parts!! :) Actually, measuring my calves would be good. Then i'll know when I get thin enough to buy a pair of boots. I can never find any boots that will zip over my gigantic calves! lol Even the stretchy kind don't have enough stretch...he he he

Clever! I have fat calves too. Always have; always will. Exercise and diet don't seem to help them. Or my cankles.
