Headaches?

Good morning all:

Has anyone experienced headaches from the diet? I don't recall having any physical symptoms last time, but I've had a migraine for three days. I've had migraines for years, but usually know what the trigger is. This time, I can't seem to get rid of it.

I looked in the book, but didn't find any reference to headaches, so thought I would check to see if anyone else has had this problem.

Hi Tinkin

It is fairly common to experience a headache or other symptoms, which is sometimes called SB Flu. It's a side effect of your body detoxing. Beans and dairy seem to help, as does drinking plenty of water.

If you have any concern that this would be anything else please contact a doctor.

Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Tinkin, I've heard of people having regular , mild headaches (especially if they don't drink enough water) from the detox from sugar in Phase 1, but I haven't heard of people commonly having migraines. If I were you, I'd consider checking with the doctor you see for migraines, just in case. I've never had migraines, but they sound awful, so I hope you feel better very soon! :getwell:

I had bad headaches from sugar withdrawal (I believe) my first time on phase I.

Thanks everyone! I'm not sure if it's a "normal" migraine, which I haven't had for months, or a side affect of the diet. Either way, I'm sticking with it and not giving in, darn it!! Thanks for the suppport!

tinkin, have you cut out caffeine? That could also give you a very bad headache!! It's not necessary on South Beach, thank goodness, at least as far as I know.

I suffer from migraines. I have LESS migraines on SBD than not on SBD....
sorry your head hurts.
