Chelby - many (crazy) birders keep a life list, that's all the birds you have ever seen and id'ed. Some break them down by state, region, etc but I'm not that crazy (yet). So we saw a bird we've never seen before. When you've been at it for more than a couple of years new birds you can drive to see become a rare thing. I think we had 3 this year and that's mostly because we've only been at it a few years. The one we saw today was a life bird for lots of people there though. It is a Western bird seriously out of range.
