  • Hi all!

I think that NSV (non-scale victories - so things related to weight-loss that aren't numbers on a scale) are SUPER important in changing our lifestyles and keeping positive in our progress.

Plus, I had one today (haven't had any yet by way of pants fitting better, etc) and it got me thinking that we should share

I bought a sweater in November at JC Penny before I started SBD. It's burgandy and has one button at the b00b area. Well, before SBD the bottom of the sweater spead out a lot over my stomach, revealing a lot of the shirt underneath. Today? No spread!!! At all. Best part? Someone at work noticed it and mentioned it!!! YAY!

Please share your NSV here too...

  • Hooray Jenn!
  • The warm fleecy pants that were floods last winter now are the correct length because I've lost some thigh weight. May ankles aren't cold anymore!
  • Woohoo Jenne and Ruth!!!
  • Great job Ruth! I hate it when "my pants get short!"
  • Congratulations, Jenn and Ruth!

Here's mine for today. We had to go to Walgreen's for new passport pictures after school this afternoon, and while we were waiting for the photos to be processed, the girls ran over to the ice cream counter for cones. I stayed right where I was by the photo center and wasn't even tempted to have lick that was offered to me. That may not be a big deal to some, but it was a huge NSV to me.
  • And I KNOW how much you like ice cream. (I was in Forfar today and thought of you!)
  • Cottage- I had an NSV like you. My boss brought in sugar cookies. They sat on the counter throughout the day and I never really even wanted one. One of the girls asked me to hand her the box and I did and could actually smell them. I thought man these cookies smell good, but I didn't really want one.

  • You guys are awesome!!! wtg!
  • Great job ladies. I've had a few evenings this week where I was extremely tempted to eat some cookies. Even went so far as to open the lid on the container, but I knew that I would feel totally rotten later about eating them. Made a cup of hot peppermint tea instead and felt great about it later. I'm taking the cookies to work tomorrow and getting them out of the house.
  • Here's a big one for me: I am able to keep nuts in my desk and not raid them. In fact, I don't even think about them until it is time to count out the 15 for my snack. This is HUGE. Nuts never stood a chance before!!
  • I have managed to get my feet into a pair of slippers that have been too-small since they were given to me. No more cold feet!! Hooray!

Oh, and my jeans are back to being too large for me. They're really baggy and loose around the tummy area, too. I may have to buy a smaller pair in a few weeks
  • Shimmy my pants are no longer tight either, they are loose and too big in the waist again. Two weeks ago they were getting tight.
  • I ran into my HS sweetheart at the grocery today. It's only the second time I've seen him in 6 years, which was at my HW. After chatting, I ran into another HS friend who commented on how much weight I've lost. It felt really good not to feel embarrassed. NSV!
  • Congrats to you all, what a great idea for a thread. Linda
