Welcome newbies.
I just jumped on the forum last week but this is my third time on SB. The cravings really do go away and for me they stayed away unless I ate "bad" carbs. Once I hit my goal I let myself slip too often and the cravings took over:( I just tried the crispy pepperoni recipe for the first time and wanted to add that to the cauliflower popcorn as a good snack. It was crunchy and spicy. I will definitely make it again. Weakling, I had your lower region problem in the past but not at all this time around. Don't laugh, but I am have been sure to eat beans every day. They really do help things along. I also read somewhere on here that they help you avoid SB flu and I have not had that at all this time. (Some days I had ff refried beans for breakfast.) But you need to be drinking lots of water too. And the veggies should help. I just want to add that it is all so worth it...later. |
Well I am not sure about the right and wrong carbs becuse I dont get it how carbs from apple could be wrong, but that is a filosofical question I guess :)
I do follow something that is similar to SB but not the "real or stick to the point" SB, but its the best solution for me and I hope you will not mind that I post here. Its hard to explain. I, kind of, started from Phase 2 and planning to stay at Phase 2 until I loose everything.... |
Nomena-
Apples are fine, but not for phase 1 -- did you read the book? In the first 2 weeks you are just really cleansing your body and lowering your blood sugars. Apples have natural sugars that are not ok if you are cleansing your body of sugar. I like to think of it as getting rid of the good and the bad to make room for only the good. Again, other chickies and Dr. A explain it better. |
As I have said I dont follow SB to the root :)
I dont think really there is good and bad food, i cant think in that relations. I am sure that carbs from apple cant be bad so I do eat them in moderation...but I get your point, tx |

My understanding is that fruit (while very "good"), has a lot of natural sugar in it and that may cause cravings. After I started gaining weight back this past summer I kept trying to just rededicate to Phase 2 because I did not want to give up fruit while it was in season. Here I am pounds heavier, and knowing that I need to be back on Phase I to knock down those cravings again. That said, I am sure that many people have made choices on how to adapt SB to fit their own lives and their own dieting personalities. If you find it works for you to eat apples - eat them. If you find you are not losing weight or that the cravings have not gone away, you may want to cut them out. Two weeks passes pretty quickly (once it is over). BTW - I know that even on Phase 2 some find that they can only eat fruit in the latter part of the day without causing cravings. But everyone is different. |
