1. snow days when I get to stay home and enjoy the snow, rather than having to drive in it
2. luxurious bubble baths after a long cold day
3. snuggling together in bed to keep warm
4. a bowl of hot oatmeal in the morning
5. soft flannel pajamas and warm fuzzy slippers
6. taking a walk at night in the newly fallen snow, when the moon turns everything blue
7. waking up to a world that's been transformed into a winter wonderland overnight
8. curling up with a good book and a cup of tea on a snowy afternoon
9. the excitement of children getting ready to go play in the first snowfall
10. looking ahead to the first day of spring

We are expecting another 6 inches here tomorrow.
I love snowmobiling
building giant snowmen with my kids
shoveling the porch and stairs...its a little added exercise!
I love feeling the need to make chili and chicken soup

Sledding of course, and watching my delighted children play in it.

But really....that amazing silence. Somehow, when it snows, and the wind is still, it is so...silent. And every sound (especially your boots on fresh snow) has this loud crispness to it.

All the things everyone else has said :) We have wimpy winters here. I grew up in Pensylvania, and we had wonderful winters For two years, I lived half a mile from a Christmas tree farm-- just open forest to wander in -- and it was SO beautiful in the snow.

two words - Snow Day! Okay, it's actually a WFH day as long as the power stays on but it's still a bonus

• Snow on the pine trees
• Wandering through the woods on snowshoes
• Snowmen with crooked faces guarding houses and yards

It took a bit of thinking since my favorite winter activity is thinking about Spring.

I love all the holiday bazaars and craft sales.
I enjoy all the special programs at the local churches and schools.
I love mornings at the pool since only the die hard locals are out.
I enjoy having several months mud free since the doggies don't wipe their feet.
I like holiday baking for others since I don't eat much of it-usually my Grandmother's special recipes.
I like blazing through the snow in my 4WD.

What's not to love!!! I'm a winter person and love it all!!

Favs would be:
SNOW!!!
Doggie snow feet - we have long haired German Shepherds and the snow gets balled between their toes.
Long, thick doggie winter coats
Fires in the fireplace
A good book, blanket and fire
Hats, scarves and mittens
Crockpot anything
The complete silence during a snow storm (one without wind of course)
Helping my hubby put up lights
Long walks with the dogs making tracks in the new snow

That would be 16" of snow yesterday & today with blizzard force winds. Had to find someone to get me to work with a 4-wheel drive and worked extra to cover staff who couldn't get in. :(

I love a nice gentle snow anyday but this is crazy!
