Default New Mom on the Beach

Hello All!

I'm new to the beach ...never been on it before... I am very excited to start my journey though! I just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl about a month ago ....downer is I topped out at 200pds on day of delivery...so far i've lost 30 and I am ready to start my journey downward back to my goal weight.

I haven't completely read the book yet.... that's my goal for the next two weeks while I am doing a liquid protein diet for the next two weeks to kick start my weight loss... Started monday and so far so good! 2 pounds down... I am actually doing it with my brother who had gastric bypass about a year and a half ago and this liquid preotein diet is what the nutritionists had him on right before his surgery... a kind of detox for your body...

I was a member of 3fc about a year and a half ago but had to rejoin because it looks like i'd been gone so long they deleted my account!

I'm very excited to be back and even more excited to have you amazing ladys through my journey...you all have so much experience with south beach and I'm sure I will have a gazillion questions!

Hope everyone has a wonderful wednesday!!

JLN, welcome to South Beach. It's really important to read the book to understand the food plan and the rationale for it. I assume you're not breastfeeding if you're going on a two week liquid protein diet. I don't know how that would affect Phase I of SB, but I assume you would not expect big weight loss on it if you are already on a limited diet when you start Phase I. Congratulations on your new baby!

Congratulations on the new baby and welcome to the beach! By all means finishing reading the book and try some of the recipes in it and here on the recipe forum - they're delicious!
