Is flax meal flax seed ground up? is it allowed on phase 1, and how much ? I wanted to try one of the muffin recipies I saw. Thank-you

Flax Seed - 3 TBS (1 oz)
My understanding is you have to grind it up to access the omega 3's in them or they just pass right out of your body.
