I just wanted to say thanks to all the people who were so encouraging this past week. I did get the book from the library, and I'm glad that you were all able to suppliment me w/ some good ideas. I am currently on day 1 of week 2, and I stepped on the scale last night and to my amazement.....

I lost 6 lbs! WHOA! I really didn't expect that number, but I'll take it! Now I'm a week in, and started eating a few more beans this past weekend. Do you feel really bloated after eating these? These are "good" carbs, right?

Beans are great carbs. Your body will get used to eating them. Make sure you add them gradually to your diet. Sometimes when I eat a lot of beans plus cauliflower, broccoli, etc. I get pretty "gassy" too. Congrats on the fantastic weight loss!

Thanks. I didn't put two and two together until you said something. That's probably why my gut hasn't liked me in a few days, huh? lol

i know what you mean! in the beginning i had really bad wind in my stomach so much it hurt! but i find drinking peppermint tea helps with wind (just plain with no added honey or sugar or anything) its refreshing!

i too did atkins and lost weight, but was difficult to maintain.

i like south beach much better!
