Good morning everyone! :)
My day started as usual with dropping my daughter off at summer school. My youngest is still away with my cousin for the week. He's supposed to be home tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath. More than likely he won't be home until Sunday or Monday. I did my daily weigh-in and am still losing bit by bit. :) One pound and one inch at a time I go. I know it's going to take time to get the weight off because it didn't pile on overnight. I logged on to adjust my ticker and to check in. I'm going to prepare my breakfast in a bit and head out to Anna's Linens to pick up the blinds I need to replace. I pulled a wee bit too hard yesterday and it came crashing down. :dizzy: Whoops!! The blinds in my living room are black and have been replaced before. However, to much disappointment, none of the local stores had the color I needed. They only had tons of burgundy. If I don't hear that word ever again I'll be okay with that. I even checked online and all they had is white. I had to call almost every store to finally locate what I needed. The store is about 30 minutes away but I have no choice but to get them. Once I put those up, it'll be more of the usual, housework, errands, preparing dinner. Tonight we're having Vegetarian Tofu Chili and salad. I will add corn bread muffins for the kids. May you all have a Terrific Thursday!! :) |
Kim, the brand name of the sweet potato seasoning is Dawson Farms but they really don't have anything about it on their site. But the ingredients listed on it are Sugar (although it has 0% sugar in the nutrition facts and 0 calories per serving) salt, spices (whatever that means!) granulated onion, granulated garlic, yellow mustard seeds and paprika.
I looked online and didn't see any other companies that make it, but see that Kalyn seems to have one too. |
I got in a good workout last night, ate homemade chicken salad and then hung out at Don's until bedtime. I'm actually in the office today. I think the fact that my calendar said March shows how long it had been since I was here. OOOPS! I'm going to go heat up my homemade black bean soup and then I have an appt to get my eyes examined this afternoon.
I called Brian to wish him Happy Birthday. It's not the same as having him here but hopefully his dad or his aunt have something planned for him. I've got a scout staff meeting tonight but I'll probably take it easy other than that. |

I think Cat should get a commission from the vegetable spiral people :) My salad was incredibly yummy. next time I'll add beans and make a meal out of it. It was very filling! Okay, back to work :) Just had to get on the Ruth list. |
I say we share her, Cyndi. Six months with you and six with me. ;)
I have one of those spiral slicers around here somewhere that we bought when we lived in Germany. If I can't find it, I'm going to order one since you all have me all revved up about it. :) I lost internet right after I posted this morning, so I hope it's back when I get home. I'm still at Cindy's, waiting for Richard to come home to relieve me. We never get did get the predicted storms today and the girls had a blast at the pool. The swimming instructor was impressed with their swimming abilities, but they just need to learn the different strokes. It was hotter and more humid than it's been so far this summer, and there I was, without a swimsuit. :( I think next time I'll just tuck one in the pool bag, just in case! Well, I'd better go check on the girls. They're awfully quiet upstairs. :chin: |
Oh, hang on a minute, Ruth PICK ME! I'm sure you'll enjoy my sub-tropical winter and there's no chance of too much rain so you can garden to your hearts content - tomatoes do better now than in the summer!!
Besides which I have a new kitchen and a new stove and cooktop and I'll even go buy another freezer if you come. As for the spiral thingy - I'll order in 2 dozen of different makes and colours!!! PLEASE RUTH! |

If I could use one word to describe this WOL right now it is PATIENCE. We didn't gain all this weight overnight and it won't come off overnight, either. About a month into SB, I was sticking pretty close to the scale. When I made the decision to stay OP and let the scale do it's own thing, I found that the weight IS coming off in its own time. Shad:wave: Nice to meet you! Tina, aren't you glad you made it through P1:cheer2: I am amazed how good food tastes now. I have part of an apple in the morning now and I love how sweet and crisp it is. I do almond butter because we have a store that grinds it daily. Barb, its nice to hear from you every day. I remember when you were really concerned about Brian being gone. While I know you miss him like crazy, you are really making the best of it. :congrat: Me, feeling better but still not totally energized. I was glad I got to H2Yoga. I came home and took a nap. I may make some soup tonight. Maybe chicken vegetable with a little brown rice. :stir: It's really hot here today! |

I agree with patience. I know when I've done SB in the past, it was with patience that I lost the most weight and inches. I know the scale freaks some people out but it keeps me in line. ;) After re-starting SB a million times over the years, this time I know I'm here to stay. One gets tired of being on the end of the yo-yo string after so many times of going up and down. ;) |
