Thanks for the welcome, beachgal!

I was on SB a few years back and lost 30 lbs in 90 days (and dropped my cholesterol by *129* points in that 90 days, too!). Unfortunately there were two things that were my undoing:

I had an "all or nothing" attitude, "Well, I'm not at goal and need a break - so I might as well eat everything." Rather than just going to a P3 maintenance phase for a while and then going back to P2 to get the rest off. Now I can't imagine what I was thinking. I mean, I was only 28 lbs away from my goal and felt like a failure??? I had lost 48 lbs!! That's certainly not "failing." What was I thinking??? Now I have to do it all again!

And the other thing was that I lost sight of a quote I just read recently, "Being overweight is never CURED, it's just MANAGED." That struck a chord with me. I'm going to have to MANAGE this forever or the weight will come back.

I'll have to try to find some of the sweet potatoes. I've had yams before and I didn't like them, but I'll hunt down sweet potatoes this time. Thanks!

Deann, it sounds like you've used your time off well! I have a quote somewhere that says, "If you fall, make sure you pick something up while you're down." You picked up a lot of good things! Now you have to decide how you're going to handle it. What will you do to avoid the voice that says, "you're not at goal so you might as well binge?" Set yourself up for success and I'm sure you'll do GREAT!

It's so true about being overweight. I spend some time with a couple of star maintainer mods in our roost and they would all agree with that statement, I think. It's not like I thought when I was younger...that you get to goal and everything magically is different. I wish! In fact, it can get even harder when you get to goal. You are always fighting your body's desire to put on weight and your own emotional issues that might make you want to overeat. But it is a problem that can be managed. Sounds like this is a way that works for you, too!
