Let's face it, as much as SBD is an enjoyable diet vs. others, its still not easy. I think the challenges the each SBD dieter faces deserves an applause, no matter how small! So why not share your daily successes and let's celebrate together!!!
Let me start. Last night I was out with friends for a post New year celebration. Obviously it was a night of heavy drinking and food. I knew I could do it until a basket of deep fried, heavily breaded chicken fingers was placed in front of me! Im such a chicken finger addict and I had to stop myself from grabbing the basked and scarfing it down.
Well, I m just on my 2nd day of SBD last night so what I did was just order streamed garlic cauliflower (we were in an Asian resto) and ate it. I didnt drink alcohol but sipped soda instead. I was so happy I did not succumb to the temptation, even my friends ate cauliflower with me too
Not getting Chinese food w/my coworkers But I will look at the menu for steamed chicken & veg next time. But that Lo Mein and those Crab Rangoons smelled like heaven
Even though I'm sick as a dog, I've been resisting all comfort foods. My boyfriend has been trying to get me to eat them with him because he is sick also, but I've been a good girl. He's been eating healthy with me, but when he's sick he eats all day. I do all the cooking tho so I've been sticking to it and ignoring all the junk he's bringing home.
I usually have horrid cravings and extreme hunger during TOM but I haven't strayed from phase 1. Also, my dog is at the vet and I haven't heard anything. I am a bit stressed and I am a big stress eater but I am not even tempted.
Great job resisting all the food and temptations!!
ozziesgirl..i hope everything turns out well with ur pup..whenever i feel the urge to "stress eat" I usually chew gum or snack on something like celery that way my mouth stays busy. It usually helps.
I had to go to Subway for lunch (work). Instead of getting the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich in wheat (one of the under 7) because I thought the sauce might be FULL o' SUGAR, I got a 6" turkey and ham on wheat, cucumber, pickles, spicy mustard brought it back to the office with me and promptly removed half the bread (day 3 of Ph2) and enjoyed.
Yesterday for me it was turning down the "rest" of my sons mac and cheese and today it was not eating the "crust" from his grilled cheese.. the dogs are enjoying it instead and they are happy about it lol
This is day 3 for me so i know it can only get easier from here..
COngrats ladies! Im in my 4th day today. So far no cheat. But again i was at a chinese resto last night and man was I craving for dumplings! Argh. Instread I just ordered a beef broth soup and sipped the night away
You all are awesome. Every day brings challenges, so this is a wonderful thread for learning coping mechanisms!
My challenge today was not planning ahead, getting caught without a mid-morning snack and then going to a restaurant with a friend. But I resisted temptation, ordered healthfully and stayed on Phase I foods. My friend munched her bread, her creamy clam chowder with potatoes and rice with her main meal, and I stuck with my salad and iced tea. Yay, me!
I will have many challenges next week... for almost the whole second week of my Phase I, I am traveling to stay with my parents while my dad undergoes an elective surgery. I'll be ok while at their place, but need to plan for the travel periods to and from (about 6 hours each way), and time spent at the hospital (about 3 days). Wish me luck!
Returning here after a two and half month absence. I lost my mom on November 13, 2008 and I just drifted through the past couple of months. I didn't even try to "diet" or exercise. Nothing tasted good to me anyway.well, nothing but chocolate fudge mint cookies and frozen pizza. I readjusted my tracker and I am ready to turn my attention to myself again.
