Stephanie - I have a feeling that is how mine would be if I had to do everything myself :) Thankfully my SIL's help out a lot. We divide up the meals and make a lot of things ahead. I already have a few of the things made and in the freezer.
- Just put the ingredients for Vegetable Beef and Barley soup into the crock-pot. Today is definitely a soup day. The recipe says it makes 6 servings, but my 6 quart crock-pot is full to the brim....I guess I made a few too many modifications ;) |
Ack! Where did the morning go?! Well, I'm just checking in. It's busy here at work and I have a TON of errands to run at lunch. Phew. One of these days I'll catch up, right?

We spent several hours last night checking out one of the local magnet Junior High schools. Brian is really interested in the technology classes. He's been in the Robotics club for two years and this is the only junior high in the district that has a robotics class (even counts for high school credit). The web site creation and other computer classes sound really good too. It will be tougher for me since it sounds like the bus won't be that close to home but if he really wants this, I will make it work somehow. Tonight we'll check out the Math, Science and Leadership magnet.

OH! And thanks to all of you who complimented me on my new picture. I have to say that I'm quite chuffed about how it turned out!

Hello Chickies,
Back from Branson, sounds like everyone is doing okay. Too busy for personals- Had a good time- If you are a veteran or know a veteran Branson is where to go for Veterans week great place. Have a good day. |
Hello all! I'm pooped as all get-out after a non-stop on-the-go day. I lost two pounds last week. Yay! Put on a pair of jeans I haven't worn in awhile this morning and they fit better than last time. I'm still a step above the really cute clothes, but it was good motivation to not be squeezing into the semi-cute clothes anymore. :)
Gonna, I'm glad you found out what's wrong and big hugs and prayers for a speedy recovery. I'm off to bed. Have a lovely Wednesday! Kara Edited to add: I made that butternut squash soup in the crockpot for tonight and it was fantabulous! A definite hit. The kids gobbled it up and asked for seconds. Thanks for the tips, all! |
Hey everyone, even though its late in the afternoon... (its been a "day"). I had my a$$ handed to me on an exam I studied 8 hours for yesterday, I have to work until midnight tonight. Plus I'm feeling the beginnings of a sore throat and flu symptoms... so I get home and my df wants to go to lunch.... Yea, I doubt boneless buffalo wings are on the beach but hey at least it was chicken :) *sigh* Blah. I'll eat some veggies later and balance it out.

Hi all! What a day today. Once my eyes opened this morning, I knew that my life would be non-stop until Sunday afternoon. I'm stressed thinking of all that needs to be accomplished in these next few days! And somehow I need to squeeze in 12 hours of work too. (I work part-time from home, usually 20 hours a week). So that means I am going to be working late nights and sleeping less! AHHH! But my eating has been awesome! I am so on program... happy about that. I am nervous about the goal I set this month. Not sure if I can do it!! Working out, eating right, just need to wait and see I guess.
Kim - cute pic! You can tell you are losing weight in your face!! Great shot. Zeff - how on earth can you guys eat all that stuff?? OK, my second is over. On to the next task! |
STILL sick, and got the Dear John email from Blue Cross FINALLY, but here's the good news......
WE GOT A DUPLEX!!!!! We're moving out the weekend after Thanksgiving. I'm SO excited! Hot diggity daffodil! :D Ok, that's enough of being excited. I need to lie back down. Have to work tomorrow morning, at least. Hope you all had a great day. Lisa PS Without exercise for a week and a half, and not being used to the calorie intake for "maintaining," plus not cooking and just eating what Tommy has shoved in my face since I've been sick, my tickie is WAY off. Let's just say I'll need to add 8+ lbs. Oy! |
Congratulations, Lisa! :congrat: Wow, that was fast! I hope you feel better soon!
Kim, you are really looking great! I hardly recognized you! Zeff, that is an awful lot of food, but it all sounds awesome! You should have leftovers to last you a long time. For a really yummy Autumn salad, I like to lightly saute together some red onions, (cut in rings) with chopped red and green apples and toasted pecans. Let it cool to room temp, then toss it with radicchio and romaine, and crumble some gorgonzola or blue cheese over it. |
Thanks!!!! I am so thankful that we found it. It's right at the top of our price range, but it's definitely doable without having to sacrifice anything. Larger than what we have now, roughly 1500 sqft, 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms (no more "holding it!!!!",) hardwood floors in the kitchen, dining room, and living room, 2 car garage with storage, laundry room, deck out front and in the back, large back yard for Little Guy to play in.
Nothing fancy, but gosh it's a lot nicer than the 1000 sqft 2B/1BA apartment that we have now. I cannot WAIT to have a garage!!!! This winter is going to ROCK!!!!! No more defrosting the car and brushing it off every morning! HOT DIGGITY DAFFODIL!!!! It makes me happy. |
Linda, your right, freecycle can be dangerous... and I do believe some use it to make money. Glad I've only used it twice in three years!
Cyndi, I will admit to my motivator for taking more walks the past, four weeks. ... His name is Cody! with a dog, taking a walk is vital, but with two, and both young, one a puppy, it's not only Vital, it's taking your life into your own hands if you don't get them their exercise! Heck, even with the exercise, the two go and play all night, rough housing, and have caught my foot in the act a few times! I'll also admit, when it's cold (I mean BITTER cold and raining I cut the walks shorter).. Cyndi, I'm glad your finding clothes, I can't wait to be down to the size I need to be! Schmoodle! Congrats on getting back on track!!!!! I'll hold ya accountable! Zeff, I'm sure he is... he's known her for years, but just started dating her... long story.Sorry about the M*FILs... difficult situation for all. Pacer, see my answer to Cyndi as to my motivation for walking in the mornings! ;) (and honestly I don't get out there every morning!)Congrats on loosing despite the change in eating! Beach, hope you had a continued wonderful day! Gonna, sorry you injured yourself, hope you get better soon! Cottage, your hired! ;) Heather, glad you had a great time inDenver! Zeff, your dinner plan sounds wonderful! I have been racking my brains as to who I could do Thanksgiving with.... no clue yet! Kim, your looking awesome hun! Hi Pearlrose! Kara! Congrats on the clothes, and thanks, I'll try the soup! Nurse, I hope tomorrow goes better! Jens.... hope you make it through the week! Just one minute and task at a time dear! Lisa....Congrats on the Dup! YEAH! Me... what a day! So I decided to bring my Ipod Radio for some background music... I had turned it on while stuffing payroll checks (mindless task) and my boss came and told me she didn't want me having it on.. I didn't have it that loud that you could hear it from another desk! So, I brought it home... I will say I quietly continued working, but I think she could tell I wasn't pleased.... Work is very ... challenging., which I like... but I didn't appreciate the position my boss put me in... I asked her pointed questions, and did as she told me, the owner reviewed the payroll and hte very things I asked on... were done incorrectly. Oh well... live and learn, all I can do. Took the dogs for another walk this evening, and neighbor stopped me so she could love on Cody! I'm tired, personals took a while... hope you all have a wonderful evening. |
Lisa - that is great news, get well soon so you can start packing. On the other hand maybe if you fake it Tom will do all the packing. On the job front, something else will come up just tell yourself it wasn't meant to be.
Cottage - that recipe sounds so good, gorgonzola and blue cheese are my favourite. I went to a meeting this afternoon and am so proud of myself. There were all sorts of home baked goodies and I only had two cups of coffee. Usually when I come back I am so tired but I guess not eating sweets has given me more energy than I usually have. Good night, sophie |
Audition Update
Hi All!!!
Guess the board was VERY busy today... GOOD NEWS -- I was going to post an update this morning with my good news. The singing audition went very well and they asked me to come back again next week. (one of the band members was away last night). They said that they usually record the auditions because it's too hard to play and listen to the singing at the same time but they had yet to be able to finish a song with anyone. I ended up singing about 4-5 songs as lead and 2-3 songs as backup! Also, they said they had never asked anyone to come back before! And the band manager (who is the son of the guitarist) emailed me on myspace and said he heard good things about me and that I would probably be one of the 3 lead singers as of next week! I'm VERY excited! It's a dream come true for me! (PLUS...extra motivation to lose weight so I look good on stage ) BAD NEWS -- So I was very happy this morning and was helping hubby pack and get ready for his business trip. On my last trip out to his car my left leg moved funny and I heard & felt a 'pop' behind my left knee. Since then I can't extend my leg all the way and walking is very painful. So I basically sat on my couch moping & caring for the baby until my oldest daughter got home so she could give me a hand with the baby. I did slip up on the diet tonight just because I couldn't stand long enough to cook anything. :( So I ended up having a portuguese bread roll (white bread) with butter and cheese. And my daughter micro'd some frozen veggies for me so I could have SOMETHING healthy. Well that's been my day. I'm sorry no personals today, I'm going to turn in now that the baby has gone to sleep and hope that extra rest will make my knee feel better in the morning. Hope everyone is well! Talk to you all tomorrow! |

Plus, it's freakin' tasty. like...really, really tasty. Also, I'm a freakin' glutton at Thanksgiving and most of the family is boys who are all like DH and have hollow legs. The boys can put a hurting on food. Last year, we ordered a turducken that was supposed to feed 23-26 people - we had 12. Thought we would have plenty to pack away in the freezer. Wrong. It was gone by the end of the next day. - Cottage, that salad sounds great. I like the idea of sauteeing the onions and apples. |
