Having a really hard time this morning with posting. I've attempted twice now, and both times I get almost done and then accidentally hit something and the page goes away and I've had to start over.
Not the best of ways to start a week (especially one where I'm not my usual cheery self). I'm late, over 4 days now, so yesterday I POAS....but it came back negative. I'm so sad over it. This whole fertility thing is so hard. I had a really good cry over it, but this morning I just feel out of sorts.
Went to our friends ordination service and party last night. Had a good time, but ate really poorly. Then managed to come home and not get things ready for food today. Which meant this morning I had to wake up and prep food, which meant no exercise. AND the scale is up. At least food is done so theoretically, I can eat well today and exercise tonight.....we'll see.
I hope everyone has a great week!
ENJOY!!!

Heather, you're in our prayers.

Lori, your kitten antics make me want another cat, but I think two is enough.

Nessa, my scale lies too! I swear it adds 5 lbs to the total. But... I am using it as a measure of progress, not really as a measure of self-worth, if that makes any sense. I think I sometimes obsess over it.

My parents in law want to fly us all out to Hawaii for Christmas! Woo and Hoo! I've never been before. So that changes my goals a little bit- I think I'd like to start measuring myself and keeping track of changes that way. I also think that I'll be working like a maniac to tone up. I think I'll try for 10 push ups and 40 crunches a day until I can do that easily. Push ups (girly ones) are HARD!!!!

 Heather. I've been there.. more than I care to discuss. Our girls were IVF babies.. we tried for YEARS to have a baby and then were blessed with 2 on of 7th IVF.

just got this in email... anyone know if it's phase 1 friendly?

Blue Ribbon Pinto Beans

1 pound bag dried pinto beans
salt (to taste)
canola oil
large onion, chopped
Look Pinto Beans and remove rocks and imperfect beans, wash well and drain. Place in large boiling pot with a good thick bottom, like Club Aluminum Dutch Oven with lid.
Important: Do not presoak beans!!
Cooking in this way will cause them to become a beautiful reddish color in a thick soup.
Place beans in a pot of water filled almost to the top. Bring beans to a boil and reduce heat to medium/low. They will continue to cook and you will have to add more HOT water until beans are tender. When tender, add salt to taste, 2 tablespoons canola oil and one large chopped onion.
Continue to simmer...as soup begins to thicken you may have to lower temperature. Be sure that there is an adequate amount of water, cooking down to make a thick red soup.
When done, (about 3 hours later) cook the juice down. You can remove the lid when the beans are done and turn the temperature back up to cook down the soup

Brenda - it is very P1 friendly.

I just found out that due to a snafu in planning on the part of the university that DH is teaching for - he is going to be getting paid for 4 classes instead of only two....while still only having the work of two classes.

This is such a blessing. :)

Hey girls! I had a variety bean salad yesterday from Jewel's deli that was awesome! Had several variety of beans, onions, tomatoes, in some type of olive oil dressing. I have no idea what is in it, want to make it at home. Any good recipes out there that sound like that?? THANKS!

Hi, Beachies! I'm back from my weekend trip with Cottage and Ruth. It was a blast! :D You know, we actually forgot to get a pic with just us three. Oh well...next time! ;)

Hope everyone had a great weekend--sorry I don't have time for personals. Our writing center is SO busy today!

Home safe and sound and am going to spend the afternoon unpacking and recuperating from all the laughter and tears! Darned cold in here as I stupidly turned the furnace off instead of just down a bit. It's warmer outside than in here at the moment.
