Pearl, hope you got back to sleep! Glad DS doesn't have anything broken. :)

That's a lot of cleaning, Jelly! It definitely counts, but remember the issue of sleeping and weight loss... :( Hon, 23.5 pounds in a month (approximately) is incredible on any plan. I'm not sure why your mom thinks you should be losing faster. :?: You want to lose about 4-8 pounds a month for health, to keep it off after, and to learn how to eat healthy so you won't gain it back later. Plus, losing slowly allows your skin time to tighten up. Otherwise, you end up without the flab under your arms--but you'll have bags of loose skin instead, which may be worse! :fr: (I had big "waddles" of flab under my arms when I started, but I lost fairly slowly, and between that and all my strength training, I never had loose skin on my arms!)

:getwell: Belle!

Cat, puppies everywhere sounds more fun than it probably is, eh? ;) Glad they have you. A workshop is definitely better than a hurricane, but you still deserve a much more fun birthday. Will you do something that night?

Cottage, I agree--it's getting very cold. I'm just praying there's enough time for my raspberries to ripen...the canes are LOADED with berries, but they need enough time to turn red! :crossed:

Ruth, too funny that you and Disney are going for your cuts at the same time. Will you get matching ones? I hear you on summer...same here, too. But I'm really enjoying fall. :goodvibes: Hopefully there'll be one or two "Indian Summer" days left for us. What a mess with the Fair people (who don't sound very fair). Assles!!! :lol3: I hear you on the treasurer position. Here's my new motto (maybe yours too?):

Loriann, if you were snacking on taco bake, I think you were really hungry! That's not really a "craving" food, as delicious as it was. Or maybe you were joking about bakes?

Yikes, Nessa! What's happening when you're sleeping? Are the bugbites having wars and your legs got in the way? :fr: Glad you're going to see the doc. Hope the work stuff goes by fast!

Amen, Cottage, about McD's. That stuff is horrible for our health...and they add sugar to EVERYTHING to make us crave it and eat more. Have you seen Supersized, chicks? He talks about how even though it makes him throw up (literally!), he still wants more, almost right after eating it. :fr:

Schmoodle, that sounds like SUCH a yummy smell! I can't wait to get all my Fall candles out and going--maybe this weekend. I love the smells of fall, especially when it comes to candles (since I really shouldn't be baking that much...). I haven't seen any concord grapes in the grocery store, but I look forward to making a grape pie when they do show up. It's a big thing in our area, where there are tons of wineries and, thus, tons o' grapes! :T

Me:
Well, last night was a bit of a wash. I was having far too much fun on our new laptop :o and didn't get to dinner as fast as I should have. The pup ended up peeing in the living room (a first in a long, long time for her) and also managed to chew through a pair of my pants (I'll save you the gory reason) while I was taking a shower. DH wasn't thrilled that dinner was late, though he was very caring about it. Oh well, today will be better! :club: Nothing planned other than to make the dinner I had planned for last Friday. Oy!

Jelly, Proactiv definitely works. I find that they ship you boxes WAY before you need them, but if you call, they'll change your shipping schedule. I've had acne since I was 16 and nothing works, plus I'm allergic to salicyllic acid (sp?), so I tried Proactiv and am thrilled. Every so often, I'll get one zit during TOM, but there's nothing otherwise!

Morning. I ended up not trying the Spinach, Rice, and Feta Pie last night. It wouldn't have been done until 8:30 or 9 after volleyball, so I decided to make it tonight instead.

Walked in to work yesterday to find a note from the girl I transferred from another store, who put in her 1 week notice 3 days after she started at my store, while I was on vacation. Tuesday, I had her come in at 4 so I could do marketing, since I have no midshifts all week. I worked on a 500 piece pull all day, so I left her 2 small things to do, and ended up leaving at 4:30 to help her out.

Well, the note said that since I left her the 2 small things to do and I left at 4:30 (even though I was supposed to leave at 4 to do marketing) she's not coming in for her last shift on Friday. So I spent the majority of the morning on the phone with Tommy, who tried to convince me not to lock the doors, drop the keys off to my assistant, and say "have a nice day." I eventually found people to cover it, thankfully, because I actually do have a few loyal associates, but the stress of the thought of having to work 9am-12:30am on Friday was a bit much for me.

So, I have been looking for work again. I applied for about 7 things last night. I have had the most stressful 2 months at this job, and it's made it so that I dread going to work every day, wondering who's going to just not show up or call in. I've been applying for administrative positions, too, so I won't have to worry about being in management and having to deal with this crap. I really enjoy management, except for this part. Until the last 2 months, I never had to deal with this crap.

So that's where I'm at. My boss is in Portland in meetings all week, so I vented a bit to his side-kick, and made it very clear that I am quite unhappy. If I didn't have Little Guy, I would have walked out yesterday and fended for myself.

Makes a girl look forward to working by herself two more days straight. With all the stress, my weight is holding steady. I'm still doing well with the "eat when you're hungry" thing, although I did eat when I wasn't hungry last night so I would get at least 1200 calories yesterday, otherwise I would have ended at like 700, and that's not very healthy.

And yes, volleyball really helped last night. My serves were ON, and I hammered them as hard as I could. Take THAT, stupid people!!!!! WHAMMO!

Well, need to get ready for work. Sigh. Say some prayers that I find something with decent pay and hours so I can get out of this job. Thanks girls.

Lisa

I got something in the mail that says I can try it for 30 days, just pay shipping and handling. So within that 30 days I'm canceling because if I know it works I can buy it myself every month when I start working, but my father isn't going to pay $19.95 a month for it.

I am jealous of all the cool weather talk! We're still in the high 80s and muggy here...such is life in the South, I suppose. When I got pregnant in February I was worried about my coat fitting in October--HA! A) It won't be cold enough for a coat and B) I am so boiling all the time I may not even go to long sleeves before baby is here!

6 1/2 weeks to go...things are starting to simmer down at work for me. I'm slightly worried the last few weeks I'll just be sitting here idly waiting to go into labor. Hopefully people will be able to give me day to day projects or just use me as an extra proofread some of the time.

I know several people asked a while back about what I do when I mentioned I want to freelance after baby is born. Right now I'm a full-time copy editor for Bible studies, but through the years I've been able to do freelance proofreading because of my connections here. Hoping to keep that up substantially after I am not working (August 2009). My real love is writing, though, and I'd love to do some magazine writing when that time comes as well. We have quite a few magazines in my department and I know editors, etc, so I am hopeful!

And if you ever need a freelance editor, shoot me a PM!

Guess I should get working this morning. I have a meeting with HR at 10 to discuss FMLA and how I have to take my leave time and all that jazz.

I didn't know you were a writer, I write Poetry.. must have over 300 of them. I did have a dream of publishing them or something but that dream basically went out the window because I can never think straight to write anymore. I wrote fine when I had a boyfriend and was in love but now, nope..

Pacergal29 09-11-2008 09:22 AM

Gonna Yahoo on the jeans!!!! :carrot:

Morning everybody. 30 posts?! I'll never catch up!

Woke up and walked 3 15-min. miles this morning and now I'm at work. Exciting, isn't it? Actually, I'll be spending all day on the phone trying to find places for DH's family and a lot of our college friends to stay. They are all scrambling to board up windows and what-not, so we volunteered to reserve hotels and find friends for them to stay with. I've got 4 places confirmed as of right now and need about 11 more. Sigh. Hope they all make it out okay. Last resort is that some of them will be tent-camping in our back yard. Haha! How's that for running from a hurricane?!
