Has anyone heard of and bought their monthly specials? A friend informed me of their deals yesterday but I'm looking through the menu, think it's a good deal, can someone tell me what they think.

Granted, several things I'd have to give to my son as they are NOT south beach proof!

I like the theory behind it, and I think it would be nice to order a box to donate to someone in need, but I don't think I'd order anything for myself. I like to read labels on what I buy, and a lot of time the frozen meats are dipped in a saline brine before they are frozen. Also, by the time I'd sort through my order for only SBD friendly items, it wouldn't be worth the money I'd spent.

I think it's a great program if you are in financial need! My DH used to pack boxes for them with our old church and saw first hand how helpful the program was for people. True not all things aren't beachy, but often if you are in that program you are just happy to be feeding your family.

All in all I think it's a good program, but in my area the choices are usually frozen meals (like Freezer Queen type dinners). I think it depends on where you live as to what they put in these because some people rave about the fresh seasonal items they get in their boxes.

according to the site, they have a "standard" box that you have to get, then there are options. The options, one has fresh veggies and fruit, but since I'm ONE person,not five, it's too much.

being unemployed, I thought a good idea, but thinking it's too much. I do bulk up when I purchase meats and what not.

I will be telling my sister about the program since she has five in her family, and both are working for next to nothing .

I'd pass on it because I'm very picky about the type of food I buy. But if you aren't too picky, it's a great deal.

I wish I would have known about this the year before DS was born. DH and I were struggling financially and it was hard some months to put food on the table. At that time, we were living on around 1100 a month, we don't make much more now....up to $1800 (whoohoo, graduate stipends), but I'm much better at budgeting and shopping frugally.
