Not to harp on the goal weight, just a friendly measuring stick, I am just shy of 5 foot and try to maintain around 112 which is where my body seems comfortable. At the end of my losing stage I hit an all time low of 107 and I have to tell you it was just too much, just the extra 5 pounds made a huge difference in my appearance, especially in my face. You will know what is right for you when you get there! Good job so far, keep up the great work!
I agree the goal weight your doctor suggested is pretty low, but there were studies done that women who aim for an "unrealistic number" tend to lose weight with more success. Not that they achieve the unrealistic goal, but strive harder towards a healthy weight maybe? I don't know if that is what your doctor is trying with you, but maybe when you do reach the real number he/she has in mind maybe then he/she will tell you to maintain that number. Kinda like aiming for the stars, but if you only make it to the clouds you did great? Who knows...doctors can be great, but sometimes they are just everyday people who read different books than us. Again congradulations and good luck with the rest of your journey!
Congrats on your success thus far! A goal weight is highly personal and can be reevaluated at any point and as the opener did not as for input on it I think it’s best to stay away from comments on her goal. If she has questions then she will likely post a thread about it.
Again Congrats and keep going!
Thanks everyone. My friend suggested SB to me when I was 280lbs in 2004. I lost 90lbs but gained it back because I was taking medication for schizo-affective disorder. It's taken me 4yrs to start losing the weight again.
