Good morning ladies! Happy Monday!
Cottage - Enjoy your time at the park with the girls, sounds like lots of fun!

Cyndi - Two weeks off, won't that be nice! I hope your boss is kind enough to give it to you.

Cat - NOLA is so cute! Sorry to hear about the one that didn't make it, I hope Bijoux is dealing ok with it. Have fun getting the room together. Sorry to hear that it's costing so much.....that can be a pain, particularly if you don't get reimbursed.

Ruth - Glad to hear that the garlic is harvested. And pleased to hear that Disney's doing ok. Be sure to drink lots of water today to help with the "too much wine'!

Mandyleigh - Cooking for an army...not something I care to tackle in this heat. You're a good woman.

lorianne - I have a 3 ring binder for all of my recipes...Might I suggest getting page protectors as well. Keeps the pages fresher, longer.

Belle - Glad to hear that dh is home. enjoy your time with him.

Tywnn - Great job on the run....FANTASTIC!

Kim - Sorry to hear that you're sore, but I bet it's a good kind of sore. Have fun inspecting today!

Autumnrose - Welcome to the chat....hope your DD is feeling better. Earaches are not fun!

Schmoodle - That would be awesome if you got the cabinet....And to refinish it would be such a reward in itself. Hope you get it!

Nessa - MORNING!!!!

Percergal - Hope you enjoy your wii Fit!

Me - Yesterday was kind of draining. DH and I have been actively TTC for a couple of years now, but with no luck. We've moved on to getting help from drs., but that seems to be taking forever. On Saturday we went to the Barbque with friends, and EVERYONE had kids. I was ok that evening, but at church yesterday it really hit hard. I think I cried through the entire service. Fortunately there's a woman there who knows what I'm going through and was so kind after church to just come and hold my hand and pray with me. It was comforting, but I was wiped out afterwards.
I'm doing better today, but it still stings, even as I write about it. And poor dh just doesn't know how to deal. Typical man, he just wants to fix it.
So today is the last week of school before summer break (THREE WEEKS OFF!) Hopefully it won't drag too much. Tonight is all about laundry.
Have a fantastic Monday, ladies!
ENJOY!!!

Good morning ladies, up and at 'em! Vacation is over, DH went back to
work today, I go back tomorrow. So it is time to get some serious umph
going. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I maintained this week. I
guess the extra activity of climbing up an down ladders and sanding was
enough to offset some of the extras I ate. Overall though I think I did
well. We had a couple of splurges, after all it was vacation and we
celebrated our 21st anniversary this week. I do think I need to do at
least a few days or a week of strict phase one to jump start my
metabolism. I need to go grocery shopping today so I am going to stock
up on what I need to be successful.
I haven't been online much the past couple of weeks. It seems everytime I get my system up and running, the thunder starts rolling and I have to shut everything down. By the grace of God we missed the tornadoes the week before vacation, they hit the next town over. So sad to see such devastation in such a short period of time. I could never live in the mid-west where these kinds of storms are common. It was just too scarey.
I will try to do better about posting on a regular basis.

Heather...I really sympathize with you and I am so sorry for you to have to go through this TTC ordeal. I was in my coworker's office bawling one day because I found out YET ANOTHER of my cousins was pregnant. I was able to conceive with just Metformin to make me ovulate because I have PCOS, but I know so many women who struggle with this and it is so, so hard. And you're right--men don't understand, they want to fix. I'll be thinking about and praying for you.

Loooong weekend--we drove to Pittsburgh and back. Blech. I have got to get some work done today especially since I was off Friday. They let go 100 people at our company Thursday and Friday so it is high stress around here. I am happy to still have a job to do, so I guess I better go do it!

Hi. Just a quickie. Lots to do today. We had an Irish Wake on Saturday night.... oy. I'm a wee bit out of practice apparently, and now remember why I don't drink Irish whiskey. :faint::barf::stars::tired: (in that order.)

Yesterday was a rough day but I feel better today, minus all the bruises I got from being dragged home from the bar on foot and slamming my body into everything I possibly could, including the toilet. Tommy says "Apparently whiskey makes your legs stop working." Was a good wake though. Everybody was sick including my mother, so it was a good tribute to Grandma. Why we Irish do that crap, I have no idea.

But I lost weight. Maybe I should go on the whiskey diet. :D

Sarcasm.

Well, I think I should probably eat today.... then I have to go to my parents' house to get a ton of stuff done before getting Little Guy from school. Thanks again for all the support and prayers girls. Talk soon.

Jessie & Autumn - Thank you!!!!

Lisa - First off LOVE you new avatar. My husband's family is also Irish, so I totally understand the whole Irish Wake concept. Too bad it seems to only happen on sadder occasions. I hope things start to feel better (emotionally speaking) soon.

SkinnyDogMom 08-04-2008 02:59 PM

Bob Newhart did a reference to a fudge and whiskey diet. I think anyone would lose weight on that one...bleck!

KO 08-04-2008 03:37 PM

I have serious Draggin arse today. And I didn't even touch Irish Whiskey! I'm super pooped. I have a dr appt tonight then exercise, something quick for dinner and BED!
Skinny apart those are 2 things I love. . together not so sure.
Heather and Autumn you and your DHs will be in my prayers
Weezle do something kind for you today
I can't wrap my brain around any more responses right noww. I want a nap!

Cat...Yep...I do believe I live just down the road from you!! I'd LOVE another puppy..but already have two big dogs in the house with me!! I'm trying to talk my mom into getting a dog though! ha

weezle 08-04-2008 06:46 PM

Heather, thanks. That's an older picture, from November I think, but I just found it on my computer while digging for ones of Grandma, and I look pretty much the same so I thought I'd put it up just for a change. And thanks for the emotional support. Prayers with you too.

Hmmm fudge and whiskey? The fudge might make it taste better..... they need to make fudge flavored whiskey. Mmmm nope, probably wouldn't do that diet even then. Yuck.

Kier, I went and bought myself a new top for the visitation and dress for the funeral. We're under a heat advisory through all this and I didn't own a skirt or dress anymore. Guess I hadn't needed one since I lost the weight.

God bless Kohl's. Got a new dress, a new top, and a mini slip for $62. And apparently I'm a... small? My mom grabbed a dress off the rack for me and I was like "uhh, a small?" She's like "Hasn't anyone told you that you're a small?" No? I nearly died. I guess it's a NSV for me. Even the ol' ta-ta's fit in the small shirt and dress. I haven't been a small since like, sophomore year of high school. I guess I still expect to grab a size 16 and XXXL off the rack. Kind of..... amazing really.

Couldn't have done it without you girls though, continuously kicking me in the butt. I'm still kind of in shock, wondering if I'm dreaming in my little whiskey-induced coma.

Ahhhh the fun starts tomorrow. Gotta rest up cuz I have to open the store tomorrow and stay for a couple of hours before getting ready for the visitation. Gotta make a ton of food too. I'm ready for reality again.

Hope you girls have a good night.

So I was out for the interview, from the front of the plaza there was no sign for the Staffing company. I was at a COMPLETE stop in the way back of the parking lot. Some idiot comes turning the corner reading the signs on the building not watching where he was turning and almost hit me! Then he starts yelling at me like I did something wrong!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate idiots!
