Default South beach diet success stories

Is there a section on this site for just those who have reached their goals (mini or actual) while on the South Beach diet? I would love to be inspired by those who have had success on this diet!

I lost ten pounds (went from 136 to 126) on the SB diet and sustained it for over a year. I'm not on it anymore (I'm a vegan now and have chosen to eat more servings of fruit and grains each day than I ate on SB), but my daily meal plans are still close to what I ate when I was on SB and I use my SB cookbooks almost daily. If I was still an omnivore, I'd be on SB. The principles for weight loss are really sound and when you stay on plan, the weight stays off!

There are the Goal and Mini-goals forums, but they are not specific for SB. I don't guess we've got one for SB.
I haven't made goal (yet) but hope to by next May. I've lost 63 lbs., going for 100 total.

Nessa is awesome, and betsysunqueen, I think maintenance must be the hardest part. Good job keeping it off!

I reached my goal of 115 (just shy of 35 pounds) in about 7 months which was September of last year. It's true maintaining is the most difficult part because you have to realize this is a way of life not a diet. One time since maintaining I have crossed my "redline" due to just plain poor eating. As long as you are willing to commit to this for life you will be sucessful! Good luck!

I haven't made goal (although I was close and then let the weight creep back on) but I used to be on three blood pressure meds and now I am only on one. I used to have high cholesterol and now mine is normal. I used to wear a size 18 and now I wear a 10. I consider all of this a success even though I still have a ways to go.

Wow, it sounds like you all have done an amazing job with this diet. Bravo! It looks like this might be the new SB success stories thread.

I hope to have the same success you all have had on this.

We've got lots of great success stories here, Stephanie, Cat, Cyndi, and Weezle have all made goal and are maintaining. I'm sure I'm missing some.

Not so close Nessa, it still feels very far. The first part was easy, this part is HARD!

Yep, reached my goal and still loving it. Took me about a year.
Now I'm focusing on the exercise and staying with eating the right way. Won't stop. My husband and I were talking about that this morning during breakfast. I told him that I really don't consider myself on a "diet"...I just eat differently than I use to. I really don't even think about it any more...it just "IS". I love to eat and I love to cook and life is good...and certainly a lot more fun!!!!!

Every now and then (maybe once a month or so...) I'll have something that is not "South Beachy", but it has got to be really SPECIAL...something wonderful and decadant...I wouldn't waste it on a snickers bar or a chocolate chip cookie...I mean REAL special. I now have the mind set that it's not going to throw me or cause cravings. I have it and that is that.

I only lost about 23# on SBD since January of this year, so not as much as others & it hasn't taken me as long. I truly love this way of eating. To me it isn't hard to stay on maintenance either. I am relieved to finally find a way of eating that will keep me full, healthy and in control. I have never experienced this before. I feel lucky to have been helped by a good friend and this forum. I couldn't have done it without either.

I lost 70 lbs in a little over 8 months. I didn't really plan to do it at that rate, it just came off. I'm much more intimidated by maintenance, taking it a day at a time and not changing much. Others have hit the high points for me - I love to eat and I love to cook so this is the perfect plan for me.
