Steph- I'm going through a nasty divorce and I know how hard it can be. PM me if you want to talk. I know my life is much less stressful now that I don't have to deal with arguing every night. My son is much happier too.
I just got my new laptop an hour ago and am busily copying files from the old to the new and trying to figure out what software I need to install. Robert has to work tonight so he won't be picking Brian up (4th visitation he has cancelled). I'll pick up Brian and feed us and then it's off to a post-Twilight camp "How can we improve registration" meeting. At least one other kid will be there so he will enjoy it. He also has swim lessons tonight. Last night we rented "National Treasure 2" and had a wonderful time watching it. I'm so glad that for the most part we like to watch the same stuff. |
I make better butter and use it instead of regular butter. Today I made two batches, and in my first batch used the same recipe I always did. 2 cups butter, 2 cups olive oil, a little water and dry milk powder. Blended all up, it makes like 6 cups of the mixture. Anyway, in the second batch, I decided to try something a little different and instead of olive oil I used unrefined coconut oil and added honey and orange zest. It came out fantastic. It will be absolutely amazing on fresh baked bread in the morning.
Anybody else make better butter? |
zeffry: do you happen to know what the calorie/carb/fat amounts are? just an guess. how much water and powdered milk? i make my own laundry soap and fabric softner, bar soap, bath salts, bubble bath. so this would be great.
thanks, chipper |
Your better butter recipe sounds good, Zeff. I know you're not following SBD 100% right now because of the baby, but for the rest of us Beachers, we should avoid butter, coconut oil and honey. I bet it will be delicious on freshly baked bread, enjoy!
Steph, I'm sorry that you and your DH are having marital problems. I hope it all works out for the best for you. Indigal, WELCOME BACK! I've wondered where you've gotten to, glad to see you found your way back to us. Good thing we saved your beach towel for you, isn't it? ;) Nessa, how did it go today? When will you find out if you got the job? I just finished my supper, and it was pretty good. You definitely have to watch that the chicken doesn't dry out, though, and I think tomatoes will be a great addition, Hmacneil. I'm going to make it a bit spicier next time, too. It was a long, boring day. Audrey was feeling better this afternoon, and I got her to eat some toast, but her fever was back when I was leaving at 5:30. Cindy said she was starting to feel a little under the weather, too. I just hope they all get over whatever they have by Saturday, when they leave for Botswana. |
