Splenda question
I am seeing alot of recipes that say "packet of splenda"...i buy splenda loose in a box so I don't know how much is in a packet.....would it be half a teaspoon or a full teaspoon??? or more? or less?? thanks

A packet of Splenda has the sweetness of 2 tsp of the granular, so measure out 2 tsp to equal one packet. They have different volumes, but the same sweetness.

Since it is so expensive to buy in bulk, I use the packets for drinks or small homemade "mock-desserts". I did not realize that 1 packet was the equivalent to 2 tsp of the granular. Yikes!:fr: I must really have a sweet tooth. I use about 3 packets per 1 c ff cottage cheese sprinkled with cinnamon.
I use the Splenda (or its generic Altern) from the bag or box for baking or for sweetening my big pot of homemade sweet tea. Thanks, mandalinn82, for sharing this info. |
