TK - You have us online as your friends and support- feel free to vent and frustrate whenever you need to- My husband has it to a degree but not as bad but I can feel you and I know how frustrating it is- you hang in there Hello everyone else hope you have a great day. I may or may not be online for the next week we are leaving today for LA so have a great week if I do not post- I will definitely try and log in at night to read posts. |
Good morning ladies!!! Happy Wednesday!!!
L/C - THAT'S FANTASTIC!!!! I can tell you, from the perspective of a child w/ a smoker parent, that you are giving your children such a gift. Not only are you going to be more healthy, you are allowing them to grow up in an environment that doesn't smell of smoke. Even if you're careful to not smoke in the house and the car, the smoke is still there. On behalf of your children...Thank you!!!! Cottage - I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't make the graduation, but at least she understood and you and dh got some quality evening time. Have fun today enjoying the cool weather. Cyndi - Hope you bike ride went well. Did you get your rhubarb??? tk - Does leo have any buddies that are vets that see a counselor? Maybe you could talk to them and then they could talk to Leo. I'm so sorry that you're going through all of this. Are you seeing a counselor? I hope things get better. Ruth - More rain, huh?? Maybe someday soon it will dry out for you. Enjoy your time with your pups. Nessa - I hope that Brian is doing well and got a good check up from his Dr. Nat's Mom - Great job getting in and exercising. Way to take advantage of the morning!!!! Gonnabe - MORNIN'!!!! Stephanie - I hope the alligators don't snap too loudly. Pearlrose - Have a safe trip coming out here. Can't wait to hear what you think of my neck of the woods when you come back!!! Have fun!!! ME - Chatty group today! Finished my 2 mile WATP and am a sweaty mess right now. Yesterday was an interesting day at school. Since we only have 3 more days, the teachers tend to get a little lax and are less structured, when is when the students tend to get into trouble. Yesterday was actually bookended with fights. We had one within the first 15 of school and then we also had one as the students were headed to the buses to go home. Good times :) I'm looking forward to having next week off. I hope every one has a fantastic Wednesday!!! ENJOY!!! |
Happy Hump Day!! :carrot:
LC: Congrats on being off the nicotine sticks for 10 days. That is fantastic! Quitting smoking was one of the hardest things DH and I have ever done - but it's totally worth it! People actually compliment us on smelling nice now - we always smelled like a bar before. Cottage: Sorry you didn't make it to the graduation, but I'm glad Caitlyn understands. I'm very envious of your cool June morning. I'm counting down the minutes until Sept. 22 at 10:44 pm (central) - that's the "official" beginning of Autumn. Cyndi: Another reformed smoker! Congratulations! I wish we had fresh strawberries here, but we don't. Enjoy your ride. Tk: ANOTHER reformed smoker! Congrats to you as well. It's been since last Nov. for DH and I and we still get cravings, me more than him. I'm sorry about your stress with DH. Let's just hope that the meds will be more effective over time and that he PTSD subsides a little. :grouphug: Ruth: Awwwww, a woman's dream. Coming home to a clean house. That would be so nice. Enjoy your errnads! Nessa: I'm glad your big baby is getting out of the hospital today. Hope he continues to recover. Have a good day and I'm sorry about your scale woes. Congrats on being another quitter! Natalie'sMom: Good for you! I agree with Nessa, lots of lemonade coming from your house this morning!, Gonna and Stephanie. Hope you both have good days! Pearlrose: Congrats to you being off smoking for so long. I hope I can say the same 15.5 years from now. Have fun in LA!! Me: Okay, I think I have this figured out. Where's Cat when I need her? Anyhow, here are my pics from Myrtle Beach. Let me know if you can't get to the pics. The garden pics were taken at Brookgreen Gardens, and while I'm no Cat, I'm pretty proud of some of them. Today is just another day at work and GH tonight on tv. I've got the house mostly clean, but there are a few small things that still need to be done. I've got a lot of garden work to do this weekend, so I'll have to get the house spotless on Thursday and Friday night. Well, off to work. |
Leo, doesn't have friends. He says he doesn't want them and doesn't need them. He's always been like that, even before the PTSD. I know it would help him out alot to have someone to talk to but he refuses. Even my best friends husband had tried inviting him out for a drink and he refuses to go. Even the counselor told him that it would be good to have a friend to talk to but he just won't. Having people i can talk to has helped me tremendously. It was here that someone told me that I have a life and I still have to move on, I can't stay behind because of his disorder. I took that advice. It's just so frustrating cause now the hallucinations are starting. The meds are working anymore, alittle but not as much as when he first took it.

Kim-I think that's why it's really hard for me to lose the weight because I don't have the nicotine to supress my appetite. I used to be able to lose weight quick when I smoked, I don't know about you. Congrats to you too.

hmacneil: What a bummer about the kids fighting. We had the same problem at my school, though. Great job getting you workout in this morning! Sorry about the Lakers last night.

Hi chicks, I came on here earlier and couldn't think of anything positive to say, so I thought I'd wait until I was in a better frame of mind. I don't really have any good reason to be whiny, just in that whiny place for some reason. The weather is gorgeous, and I plan to get my butt back in gear and get a good walk in, maybe a WATP too. It's been too cool for the pool, particularly with the kids' scratchy throats, so I may knock off a little early this afternoon and take them to a matinee of Indiana Jones. Wish damn Aunt Flo would just come visit already, she's been making me miserable the last few days.
DH leaves in about an hour for his trip, he'll be back Friday night. He got a limo, so I don't have to drive him to the airport. I don't think I'll cook tonight, since he's away, I'll do sandwiches for the kids and a salad for me. Well, that's about it around here. lc, you are doing great and we are so very proud of you! tk,, sorry things with Leo are rough again. nessa, good luck bringing the baby home! Hello to the rest of you chicks, have a wonderful day! I've got to walk over to the bank quick and get DH some cash for his trip. BBL. |
