Mornin' everyone! Pecking in late today, so will forgo most personals, but I hope everyone had a blissful weekend!
:congrat: hmacneil6 on your loss! :yay: Exercise helps out a LOT! Jessie, I have terrible sinus problems and have investigated things to try during pregnancy. You might try saline sprays--I love "Simply Saline" because it has a great nozzle and is sealed a certain way so that they don't need to include preservatives, but it doesn't get any bacteria or anything. I find it helpful to spray both sides, then lie down on my back so it gets in there good. :o If that doesn't work, get a Neti pot (you can find them at health food stores--our Wegman's has them in the Nature's Market section). If you have trouble finding it, let me know--my SIL lives in Nashville and might know who has them. (She's due any second now--her due date is May 9th, but she's already 1 cm dilated and some percent (I forgot!) effaced! ;) ) Anyways, it looks like a little teapot. You use it by filling it with saline solution (and essential oils, if you want), and then, with your head over a sink and tipped to the side, you pour the solution (picture of this) in one nostril and it comes out the other. It sounds deranged, I know, but you wouldn't believe how well it works!!! I use a really fancy machine that pulsates the solution in, but a neti pot is a much simpler, less expensive way to do it. Plus it should be safe throughout your whole pregnancy any time you're stuffed up. :D Drinking lots of water also helps get things unplugged up there, and drinking hot water or herbal tea will also help to "melt" the stuff stuck in there. Hope that helps, hon! :dust: for you you, iammare! You can do it! :cheer2: Me: Big news! My baby sister got engaged this weekend! Unfortunately, only my other sister has met her fiance. :( He sounds like a sweetheart, though! I had a fairly quiet weekend in terms of having fun, but did lots and lots of work! I did a bunch of mulching and other yardwork on Saturday and am still feeling the pain... Yesterday I took care of the bunnies, wrapped a bunch of presents, and did chores. I'm off the gym tonight, and then we have dog obedience class. When I get home, I need to haul the trash to the curb. We have at least 15 bags of yard waste and can only put out 6 bags total (including our actual trash) each week. These guys are gonna be around for a while, I'm thinking... Hope everyone has a great day! |
Ah, Jessie, forgot about Bambino!! I remember taking something for sinus when I was pregnant...it began with a "c", but can't remember now...so long ago!!
My day is looking up. A friend just called to invite me to go out in the swamp this afternoon for some picture taking. can't wait!! playing hooky from job 2! |

We've got a troop meeting at 7 tonight so we'll have to watch our time. I need to stop by Kroger to pick up the parsnip and ginger for tomorrow night's stir fry. My usual store was out yesterday. I'm working on chipping away at my to-do lists at home, work and scouts. I think I have everything printed for the Wed night Junior staff meeting but still need to do a little work on the Powerpoint and Walking Den Leader book and "what's changed" document for the Walking Den Leader training on Thursday.
I keep saying I'm going to get the POD reserved for camp so I'm going to call on that now before I get distracted again. |
well I did some picking up and some ironing. just in for a break. Should be going to work soon, once DH gets here... But, I'll keep going until he gets back. Its soooo beautiful out today!!! If he were here I'd go for a bike ride or walk with him. Maybe we'll take a quick one when he gets back :)

Hi everyone! Quick fly by! Hope all is well with you! Have been really busy lately but things are going VERY well! A Level 6 Director in my travel company is calling Tommy and me the "Illinois Expansion Team." She was the California Expansion Team, and made $3,000,000 last year after 3 years at it. We also booked another $1500 in travel last week! WOO HOO! Doin' the best we can to make it so I don't have to work anymore! I'd love to retire in 5-10 years, too. Can you see it? Me. 38. Retired. Living in my house on Anna Maria Island in Florida. Sipping sugar-free margaritas with my newly lifted ta-tas. Ahhhh I can't wait!
Wednesday is Tommy's 31st birthday. My parents, brother, and I all chipped in and got him a TomTom for his car. (I know, it's funny, it's his name twice, but he wanted it.) He doesn't know that's what he's getting so shhhhh! I'm excited to see the look on his face when he opens it! That's all here. Hope you girls are doing great! I'm gonna get some dinner on the stove. Love you all! Talk soon! Lisa |
Just got finished with dinner. The souffle chicken is really good. I've never been a big fan of stouffers stuff, but the spinach souffle was great. It was really easy and convenient as well. :)
Went to lunch with DS and DH today at a little local place. They serve great plate lunches. VERY down home. After lunch, went to Walmart to buy a carpet cleaner. I was planning on buying the "spot bot", but found that the "Little Green" was lighter and smaller. You can't just set it and forget it like the spot bot, but I used it on a koolaid stain on our white carpet today, and it worked really well. It also cleans upholstery. It surely isn't a replacement to getting our carpets cleaned every once in awhile, but it will do for those toddler stains that seem to pop up all the time. I'm very pleased with it, so far. Also stopped by the feed store and bought some bird food. My son has a bird feeder that the birds love. We have to fill it at least once a week! Alright, off to clean up dinner dishes and try to get another room taken care of. I told myself I wasn't going to break my back over my mom coming.....if I actually stick to that, I'm not sure. Our home is very clean, but probably not "mom" clean ;) Too bad! She doesn't have a 2 year old! |
