Default Thursday Cluckings

Early start for me again today as I woke at four! I think I need to start staying up past ten to get this schedule straightened out. Getting up so early makes me want an afternoon nap and that is just too darn decadent when the weather is so nice. Cold, dark, rainy or snowy days are for naps!

Not much planned today except a possible trip to town. The Syrup Festival is this weekend and there are some odds and sods to be picked up - like 50 pounds of little butter thingies! Pancake mix and sausages are already picked up but the guys forgot the butter. Don't worry - the sausages are frozen for now.

Looks like a lovely clear sunrise and a day in the mid-60s! More of my snow mountains will melt - the patio is still not clear although Hershey is doing her best to eat what's left!

Have a great day!

Good morning Ruth I'm glad you're getting some of this lovely springy weather. I'm going to plant greens this weekend, and peas.

Chicks to come. I've got a big pot of coffee on - a nice dark roast organic Columbian.

It's my Friday today because I have a long weekend. I've already got an extra long to do list but may make time for a trip to the ocean. Luna gets her staple out tomorrow and hopefully the vet will agree that dry food now and then is fine and we can leave for a long day away.

The scale is moving again. When I get frustrated enough to complain about it suddenly it starts moving - go figure! One more day at this weight and I get to celebrate no longer being overweight. A very rare thing in my life, at least since I was 7!

Have a good day all

I can't see our sunrise yet, it's still too dark, but it's supposed to be another sunny and warm spring day here too, Ruth. I'm glad those mountains are melting away, soon you'll have an entire green lawn to look at!

Maggie and I enjoyed our lunch up in their treehouse yesterday while watching a hunky Scotsman til our garden plot. I don't think Maggie appreciated the scenery as much as I did, though. He's supposed to come back to finish up this morning, and I plan to take him out a tall glass of iced tea so I can get a second helping of eye candy before he leaves.
My DIL is bringing Amber out this afternoon so she and the girls can play. That will free me up so I can sit on the patio in the sunshine with a magazine.

Morning Ladies. Feeling kind of crummy this morning. Think I have a bladder "thing" going on. Spent the evening drinking cranberry juice with a heating pad on my tummy...then got a HUGE charlie horse in the middle of the night in my calf. (guess i need a bannana for some potassium!) My husband got me "lite" cranberry juice...10g sugar per serving. ouch. (I just wanted the plain concentrate, but they didn't have any so I drank it anyway..it was so disgustingly sweet) Hope it works, cause I don't want to go to the dr. I had a bladder "lift" when I had my hysterectomy and hoping it isn't "dropping". yuk.

Gentle hugs to Cat. I've been there and it sure isn't fun.

Cottage, so nice that you have garden "decor". Is it warm enough for shirts off - or plaids, as the case may be.

CyndiM, seems like just last week we were crabbing about snow and now you are planting peas! My veggie garden is still too wet but maybe next week.... I'm glad Luna is recovering well.

Glorious sunrise is happening. The loons just did their morning fly over. The ice is now broken up in both lakes. Along the shore there are drifts of ice cubes which will probably melt today. It's quite pretty and sort of tinkles.

Cat, sorry you're not feeling too good today. Try eating some yogurt, that helps with bladder infections, too.

Cyndi, congratulations on being under your goal!!!! Enjoy your coffee, I made mine with a touch of cinnamon this morning.

Ruth, unfortunately, he wasn't wearing a kilt. But he did strip down to his t-shirt and was wearing a pair of cut-offs.

The sun is fully up now and it's just gorgeous outside! I'm getting ready to tackle that WATP 4 Mile Super Challenge again, instead of going to Curves this morning. I'm feeling energetic, so wish me luck!

Oh, Cottage, you are BAD!! Good plan on the iced tea...guess you couldn't make it a long island iced tea, huh? Put me in mind of that song "the Scotsman" (at least I think that is what it's called...hilarious)

Not under my goal yet, but under the magic BMI number for my height. Still got a little distance to my goal,

Cat - can you get cranberry extract pills at a natural food store near you? I'm not sure if they work as well, used to buy them for my daughter. Hope you feel better very soon.

good morning ladies!

my first good day in a loong itme, or so it seems.

ruth-i luurve pancakes, what a great idea to have a festival to celebrate them! glad to hear u've got spring on the way..it sounds so gorgeous up there.

cyndi-congrats on getting that weight off! woo-hoo to you and thx for the delish coffee

cottage-bring on the scotsman! yee-haw! what an excellent way to start the day!

cat- oh, i feel for you. i've been there so many times i don't even want to remember. and i've tried it all, cranberry juice (100% "mother juice" super-expensive) and capsules help as well as yoghurt. hope u can stave it off. get better!

and me..like i've mentioned above..am feeling better..no thx to any of the specialists i've seen. it's great to live in a country w/public health care..but..you get what u pay for. and since you have almost unlimited paid sick days (up to 6 weeks)..doctor's tend to take it nice and slow-handing out doctor's notices instead of answers. grumble grumble

happy thorsday!

jan

Good Morning Chicks! Feeling more of myself today after a week of a cranky DH. DD's prom is this weekend so we are busy doing last minute running for it, thank goodness the florist is right next door to work!

Ruth glad you are finally getting some nice weather!

Cyndi I am so ready to do some planting myself!

Cottage oh to have a hottie in my yard, instead I have a neighbor who weighs about 400 and walks around without a shirt and enough plumbers crack to blind you!

Cat get to feeling better!

Nessa sure wish you worked in another branch of goverment, like HUD and you could slap some of my underwriters around!

janda glad to hear you are feeling better.

trailgroomer

Here's wishing a great day to all!
