I do loooooove the mashed cauli. Didn't think I would, but I do. Really gone off white potatoes actually. Weird, as everyone I talk to about this diet say they couldn't li ve without spuds.
Cabbage - best way I know is fry it with a bit of bacon, and a splash of white wine. Only a dab mind! Use it in place of pasta for a canneloni (sp?) and in lasagna. However, my father once subjected me to the Cabbage Soup Diet when I was 14 (thought I needed the help...hmm.....) and now I just can't face cabbage in any sort of liquid base. Makes me feel vomitous just thinking abut it....urgh.... |
Ah! the infamous cabbage soup diet. ICK! My mom did that when I was younger. I would eat it every once in awhile. ick ick ick!!
Edit: Nathan Lyon just made a great looking cabbage recipe: Braised cabbage He took a head of purple cabbage, cored it, and finely chopped it. Put it in a hot pan with 1 T. olive oil. Added thinly sliced garlic (It looked like 2 cloves) and then a splash of balsamic vinegar to keep the sweetness in the cabbage. Cooked it all down until the cabbage was wilted. It looked great! |
