Good morning.
schmoodle-I am doing so much better. No more sore throat. My equlibrium is off though. I'm dizzy and feel like I've been on water for a month. I've had really bad allergies but took zyrtec and that is wonderful but it does make me tired.

Nothing much going on. Everyone seems so busy. UTI's suck. Can't stand them and yeast infections. Uuuuhhhh. So uncomfortable. I think my DH would love to go to a beer fest. I can't stand beer.

Got all my grocery shopping done yesterday. Very happy about that. I have a birthday cake to make for next weekend. I'm gonna do a shoebox with shoes. Will post pics when I'm done with it.

Kara-sorry got off the comp yesterday. Wasn't able to help you with the gumpaste question but PM me if you have any pics and I'll be able to help you that way.

Off to clean the house and get some stuff done. Have a wonderful day.

I forgot to tell you guys of my good news - I bought a pair of size 14 pants at Lane Bryant last week not knowing if they would fit and well they fit which means I am a step closer to never having to shop there again! :D

WOW! major major CONGRATS!

tkglenn 03-28-2008 11:00 AM

good for you gonna. I hate shopping there. Congratulations!!!!

SkinnyDogMom 03-28-2008 11:03 AM

Good morning everyone! I actually got up in time to say good morning instead of afternoon.
Ruth-ditto what Cat said...coyotes and skunks and raccoons, OH MY!, the same sing-song was in my head. Hope your cleaning lady can make it soon.
Cottage-a free day on a friday, sounds wonderful, enjoy!
Cat-I very much like your idea of converting more and more over to SB way of eating so we can have SB friendly meals at their houses! mmmmmm-Beer fest, one of my loves that I only partake of on rare occasion now.
Jandaman-sorry you are having pain, hope the infection clears quickly and you have relief. Rest and get well!
Cyndi-I enjoy pumpkin beer as well, it is kind of rich with the subtle taste of pumpkin pie spices. Sending sunshine your way to melt your snow.
Nessa-Beck sounds interesting and helpful. Gwen Shamblin-Weigh Down Diet talks similarly about hunger. Maybe with your boot you could do some "chair" dancing, like when in the car???
Loriann-Enjoy your shopping!
Schmoodle-yes ma'am, I'll zip my lips today on the food talk. Have a nice Friday!
Gonna-Have fun with your Grandma at dinner and enjoy your walk.
Weezle-Enjoy going out and decorating, I love decorating, but I really want Vern Yip to come and decorate my house!
Spirit-Hope you have a good night at work. Congrats on the size 18 jeans--good work!

I am going to start packing today. Hopefully the puppy will let me.
He slept well last night in our room. DH wasn't awakened once by him until about 6:45 this morning and that is DH's usual wake up time anyway. The pup came to me about 4 AM, but I pretended to stay asleep and he went and laid back on his bed. He must have understood DH's threat that he would be sleeping in his box if he couldn't settle in at night.
We are going to a church rummage sale tomorrow morning and may try to hit some others in the area. We don't usually come home with much, but usually find some books. Every now and then we get lucky, we got a nice rocking chair-wood and rattan 2 years ago for $15, it is still rocking strong.
Commissary shopping is also on the list of to-do's for tomorrow. We try to stock up at the commissary as it saves mucho dinero.
Have a fabulous weekend everyone.
Karla

Kim-have fun crafting. Tulips are my absolute favorite flower, I carried them in my wedding.
TK-glad you are feeling better--be careful while dizzy-hold onto things when you first stand up and while walking so you don't fall. Enjoy your cake creating.
Gonna-congrats on the size 14! being able to shop at "regular" clothes stores is one of my big goals.

Ruthxxx 03-28-2008 11:12 AM

Nobody loves me
Everybody hates me
I think I'll go and eat worms
Not only did Donna cancel but, after dashing home from footcare, Gail isn't here either! I flossed, Scoped and Mitchumed this morning too!
I guess I'll go and kick butt somewhere!

Gonna, congrats on your NSV!

Kim, nice to know someone else starts Christmas stuff this early. I have two wall hangings and two silk floral arrangements ready to wrap.

Cottage, I am constantly buying spring greens that look great in the store but get that compost smell after a day. Any suggestions?

Spirit, congrats on the first cheque AND on the new jean size. I'm finally into a 16 but am still 1X up top - darn boobs!

Schmoodle, I like walks with a purpose but it's not worth getting some kids at this stage of my life!

Sorry about the snow, Loriann. I can see it on the radar but it's staying on the US side of the St Lawrence.

Bull and beer fest? Sounds dangerous to me.

Nessa, personals? Careful - it can be habit-forming.

I know I've missed folks but I have to go find some worms to eat.

FluffyK 03-28-2008 11:35 AM

Well, I just lost 3 hours of my day. We had a power outage. *grr* A lot of snow fell overnight, and it was wet, then it all froze and we had 6 inches of icy snow on the power lines. It LOOKS gorgeous, but very yucky. Of course, the only things I had to do today were computer programming (no power), laundry (no power) vacuum (no power), do dishes (no power = no water)... So, I sat down and read a book, but I was so distracted and impatient to get my computer work done, I don't remember what I read.

Cat, you just reminded me that I need to figure out what to eat for dinner. Ugh! I hate always having to think of it.

By the way, I am ripping my hair out. I am trying to get a background image to print out using a CSS external file, and for the LIFE of me I can't get it to work, no matter what I do. It works in the body tag, but not in the CSS. Is there a trick, or is this a bug? I'm using FireFox. I guess I could take a look with my IE...

Janda - sounds like it's time to pull the "I'm getting a different job" trick. Go out, interview for another job, get an offer that's more money and tell your boss to match it or you're on your way. You can't pull it every year, but if you've been denied a raise for a long time, it is a very effective technique for desperate times. It also helps if you will actually accept the job.

Nessa - you are WAAAAY Too funny! mumble mumble...

Gonna - I scrolled to your boogie carrots and got a :D

Cat - I like a gin & tonic with lime.. Gin is so refreshing. I used to drink girly drinks, but that one scaled me up to the big kids, I think.

Spirit - How about if you spare a couple of those inches on your torso for me? Or a little on the legs? I really would only like 2 or 3... If you wanted, I could even share some of "the girls", I've got plenty of that to spare, even when I am skinny.

Kim... aaaaah - another crochet fan.. :D That's my favorite thing to do with my downtime. I didn't have the patience this morning, though.

Gotta go catch up from this morning!

ladybugnessa 03-28-2008 12:13 PM

ugh I remember once having no power for three days... it was HORRIBLE....

glad it was only a few hours for you!

Sorry, that happens to me all the time, too. The only suggestion I have is to not wash anything beforehand. But you probably already know that. ;)
Too bad that Donna and Gail didn't show today, but please don't resort to eating worms!!! We all love you!

SAnativegirl 03-28-2008 12:42 PM

Wow-You girls are chatty-
And NO-Mo (aka SAnativegirl) is not
having a better day. These 2 girls at work are giving me a hard time cuz I want the same day off in May one of them wants. the remaining girl doesnt
want to answer the phones by herself. My God-they dont ring anyway!
Plus they are cutting our hours down from 40 to probably 32. theres goes
20% pay. but I am looking for job. I figured what 20% less would be working at 40 hrs and thats the min I'll take at new job (if I can find one) Plus I think
theyre pissed cuz I leaving at 1pm to take 4 hrs left of last vacation. After all I do for them. i have always tried to treat people the way i wanted to be treated. Jerks- so thanks for asking- but heh-husband just called, hes done with work, we are packed and will stop in San MArcos outlet mall, theres a neat store that sells cool knit sundresses. So I will take your advice and have a fun day.

Schmoodle 03-28-2008 01:42 PM

Hi chicks, got in my WATP and all is forgiven regarding yesterday's Taco-taunting because my lunchy taco soup was super yum!
Gonna, something will give, you just be patient. I have been really, really super good all week, and the scale has not budged yet, so I feel your anguish. But I just know we will be rewarded for our efforts. Congrats on the 14s! Okay, I'm a little jealous, it's funny, looking at your weight and height and mine, I should be in 14s too, but I've got two pairs of LB size 14 jeans waiting in the closet and I'm not there yet. Of course I have got an excess of butt. I can zip them up now though! I was kinda thinking I would missing shopping at LB, that place has been my friend for many years. But that's crazy talk isn't it?

Beer, oooh I love beer. Beer would go really well with taco soup. I miss beer. And gin. And tequila...

Hooray on the jeans spirit!
Happy decorating weezle!
cottage, what, pray tell, is a turkey London broil? London broils are generally cooked rarish, and I can't even imagine one made with turkey. How do you cook it? Where do you get it? And yes, thanks for noticing, I am feeling great! It's such a relief. I love Phase I. It's like magic. Even though I haven't lost an ounce. But just wait until I am pre-menstrual again, and I'm sure the whining will return. I was mad last night, I was all ready to watch with my yogurt. Stupid basketball. I don't know if they aired it Wednesday or if it was a week off. I will watch it online, but I have to wait until DH gets us a new video card.
Kim, I wish I was on your Christmas list. I love the handcrafted gifts the best. ;)
Glad you are feeling better tk!
Happy rummaging Karla!

Are worms SB-friendly?
Hi fluff!
If we're going to start passing around body parts, anybody need some booty?

Schmoodle 03-28-2008 01:45 PM

OH, almost forgot. I got word of my raise - 10% this year. That's better than I thought they'd do. Of course, my casually mentioning a job offer probably didn't hurt. Now, is it enough? hmmmm....
Time for some serious career and financial planning discussions with DH.

Schmoodle that's GREAT!

GONNABE165 03-28-2008 01:47 PM

Schmoodle the funny thing is it seems I have lost more inches than weight - crazy. I know what you mean about not shopping at LB anymore but Oh how good it will feel not to have to go there for ourselves. Worms I'm thinking they could be SB friendly :dizzy: as they are pretty natural/nature
