GOOD MORNING! I'll take a second cup of coffee.
Cottage sure wish I had a curves around here, I'm happy with my yoga but I could use a little more toning in my arms, I have some saggy chicken wings going on there! Cyndi I have done ALOT of shopping at goodwill lately, infact I stopped at one in Indianapolis this weekend knowing there would be better quality stuff there. I have gotten 3 skirts that look like that have never been worn and they are good brand name items for under 3.50 each! Janda Hope you are enjoying your time off! Ruth I have a couple of items from my bigger days that I love and would love to have altered just don't know anyone to do it! Kara hope the kids stay healthy and you too! Nessa Sounds like you have had a rough week, to you although I know you are one tough cookie! Cat don't work to hard on your vacation! Gonna Heres hoping for a calm day for you so you can get caught up! Me same ole same ole here, I have once again found my desk and feel the power today! I am going to kick some A** and take names today! :D Still trying to find a good "before" picture for this casting call, seems I avoided the camera at all costs for many years! Alright time to get another cup of coffee and start some battles! Have a great day chicks! |
good morning. Still alittle under the weather. My throat is just killing me. i think I have strep. Had chills again this morning. And I'm extremely tired. Just wanted to make a quick stop and say Hi. Maybe I'll make some kind of tea for my throat.

G'morning chicks. I had a good Ph1 day yesterday. I also tried my new yoga DVD and LOVED it. I've gotten a couple of others from the library but found them too intimidating and difficult to do the poses. This one was perfect and she showed lots of alternative ways to do the poses for folks that are not so flexible anymore and might have some extra flesh in the way. So now I can add that to my WATP DVD repertoire. I set my March exercise goal at 900 minutes and have already broken 1000, so I am feeling pretty optimistic this morning about making it into the 180's by the end of the month.
Today will be a challenge though, getting in the exercise and everything else. This afternoon I've got to take DD to an interview inside the beltway, and hopefully we'll have time to hit Trader Joe's on the way home. I'm going to go plan out my food right now so I am prepared. Ruth, you should try the cold brew coffee method. I make up a pound of coffee concentrate over the weekend and then I'm set for the week. It only takes a few seconds to zap some in the morning and it's really good. I have read all your posts but I'll have to catch up with you chicks later, as I really need to get moving here. Have a good one chicks! |
Nessa, we're right near Philly. If you're coming through this area and have some time, we should meet up!
Cat, what are sago palm and ginger babies? Glad your visit was nice with your friends! Oh, Linda, your roasting veggies sound delectable! Gonna, enjoy your treadmill time tonight! Good luck with the work. Krystal, report back on your hummus flavors! They sound really yummy! :T Stephanie, have fun taking names! I picture you as a spunky gal! Tawnya, hope you're on the mend. We swear by chamomile tea when we're not feeling well. It's so relaxing. Schmoodle, good luck with all your running around today! Drive safely in that crazy DC traffic. Kara |
TK - don't forget that you can gargle with salt water to help that inflammation/infection. There are also some natural things you can take that are antibiotic, but I don't know about them enough. Maybe you can Google something like that?
If not, your body will likely fight this off, it will just take a while. My DH does not take any meds, and he has had strep, sinus infections, flu, etc. If you give yourself plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluids, a normal healthy body will eventually get through the illness. It is a very miserable process, though. |
My son is in philly. i am going to pick up a recumbent bike for DH (someone on my board is getting rid of it) and we will be there till racing that night at some race track... i thought maybe if we were close we'd 'hook up' so to speak...

Tawnya, you could try garlic. I got through a mastitis infection by eating raw cloves of garlic, cut into swallow-able pieces. I think I was taking three cloves in the morning, afternoon, and evening, but I can't remember exactly.
Nessa, PM me if you've got free time in the Philly suburbs! Kara |
Oh Kara! Raw garlic? BLECH!!! Guess I will pray for no mastitis when baby arrives.
Just wanted to drop in and say hi. Lots of action here this morning. I won't tell you what I eat now. I have LOST 3 lbs. since I got pregnant which is ridiculous because it takes me practically killing myself to lose any weight on a normal basis. I have had all-day sickness though which doesn't help I'm sure. One of my best friends is in the hospital right now having a baby. I can't wait to see him--and her!--sometime today or tomorrow. Lots of love, Jessie |
Kara, This is a sago palm and this is a ginger.
I just gotta share this. I decided since I had time today, that I would ATTEMPT to do the Fluidity advanced workout dvd...and I did it!!! This "old lady" did it! It really is too long to do in the mornings when I have to go to school, but I can do it on the weekends and this summer when school is out. Now, off to the tub and to go get some food in this house! |
:carrot::carrot::carrot: Way to go, Cat!
|
Cottage: Good morning! Thanks for starting us up. :D I'm glad that you're getting back into the groove at Curves! I need to get back to my walking - I've been slacking quite a bit lately. Your cooking today sounds like it's delicious - can I join you?
Cyndi: Congrats on needing a new wardrobe!! :carrot: The expense is something to worry about, sure, but imagine how much fun you'll have picking out new clothes!! janda: Mmmmmm...caramel lattes. Sounds wonderful. I've always thought kittens were adorable, but I'm extremely allergic to them. :( But I do get to live vicariously through all the cat owners around. :) Have a good day! Ruth: Congrats! :bravo: Your 16 lb. loss is fantastic! I hope Hershey enjoys her "spa" day - I'm sure she'll look lovely when she's done! Kara: I hope the munchkins don't have something that is catching - you'd better stay healthy! Volksmarching sounds like a lot of fun - I'm sure you'll be doing it once you get to Germany. Nessa: Good morning! Hope you have a good day! Cat: Sounds like a good growing season is in store for you. I wouldn't expect anything less! ;) Is the ginger the edible kind, or just ornamental? Gonna: Good morning! Hope you have a good day and enjoy your exercising! Fluffy: I love hummus, but we only get two kinds here. Spinach and artichoke sounds yummy...maybe I'll have to come up with a recipe to make it myself. Thanks for the idea. Have a great day! Stephanie: You take those names!! Way to get to work with such great enthusiasm and motivation - maybe I should channel your vibes - I feel like going home and crawling into bed! Schmoodle: I'm glad you found a yoga workout that you like - yoga can be really intimidating. I've watched "Namaste" on Fitv a few times and thought, "whatever!!" Enjoy your shopping at Trader Joe's! tk:  I'm sending get well thoughts your way! :goodvibes Me: Well, MIL still hasn't decided if she's coming or not. She's driving me crazy!! :dizzy: I do want her to come see us, but she's making it really hard. She's supposed to be here Friday and I still don't know if I need to set up the guest bed!! :yikes: I think she wants us to offer to help pay for her gas, but she just doesn't understand what we mean when we say that the account is balanced at $0 and that we closed ALL of our credit card accounts. Sigh. This is why we moved to West Texas - too much drama in South Texas. Well, it's taken me a while to get this post out and I've got a stack on my desk to get to. I hope you all have a good day! ~Kim |
Yay for you Cat...

I wanna go too Nessa and Schmoodle! Oh why do I have to live in the middle of BFE with no chicks and the closest Trader Joes 2 hours away????
|

I have to say, I think I've got you beat! No SBers and the nearest Trader Joe's is 7 hours away. I'm hoping there will be one on the way to or near Myrtle Beach this summer when we go on vacation. |
