Nessa, that's a shame about your leg, I hope it heals quickly!

Stephanie, I think if Jake ever threatened to leave, I'd help him pack, too. Heck, I'd do ALL the packing for him.

GONNA, I hope all turns out well with your mother.

tk, I'm looking forward to pictures of that cake!

Barb, I'm with Schmoodle, between the two of us we'll send Robert yelping, that jack***! He should be so ashamed of himself, what a poor excuse of a man.

I had a satisfying morning of shopping. I tried on dozens of bras and ended up liking the Lilyette and Bali brands the best. Macy's had buy-2-get-1-free, so I made out great. :) I looked at clothes but got scared off with sticker shock! I can make do with last year's Easter outfit, and there's nothing else I really need right now, anyway. Monica wants to come out and go the the Reading Outlet Malls tomorrow, maybe I'll find some good bargains there.

I did the cake and my best friend loved it. So did everyone else at her job. It actually came out better than I thought it would. Here is a picture of it. Let me know what you think, I need HONEST opinions to make me better. Thanks everyone.

tk, it's adorable and a Chanel, I see! That would be the perfect cake for my DD's birthday. If you were around here I'd order one. I love the script you used too. Too late to take a picture from an aerial view?

tkglenn 03-14-2008 02:42 PM

Hello chickies has been a busy week for me:

TK, loved the cake I had someone send me an email that had cakes made up as different purses- yours looks just as great as those

Nessa: Happy Birthday to You! Enjoy yourself

Stephanie: Whenever my DH starts acting up and saying crazy things like that I tell him go ahead pack up nobody here is stopping you, that normally shuts him up. He has it made so I think he knows better, but just trying to control things.

Everybody else: Hello hope the rest of your Fridays is going wonderfully.

As for me this week took DS to doctors he had pink eye but test came back negative for Strep- but no the lab culture came back today positive so I got to go get him his meds for that- He gave DH and DD2 pink eye as well so everyone is on meds. Only myself and DD1 have not gotten sick, so say a prayer that everyone heals up quickly....we leave for Florida for Spring Break next Friday.

Have a great weekend everyone

Schmoodle and cottage - It might not seem so unfair if it was a husband supporting his wife for over 6 years (but then Robert didn't stay home as a stay at home dad who did everything around the house). Anyway, Texas is a community property state so half of everything that I earned during the marriage including my retirement and everything we purchased during our marriage is considered to be his. The state prefers we divide it up ourselves fairly and I hope we can settle to save more legal fees but we'll have to see what happens. I am keeping track of some of the stuff I am paying for since the separation in hopes of getting reimbursed for it (his share of the parenting seminar, his prescription drugs, his medical bills, etc). I'm not allowed to drop him off my medical insurance until the divorce is final so you would think I could get reimbursed for that and car insurance on his car too. He is at least paying $260 a month for child support and Brian's health insurance.

tkglenn 03-14-2008 02:57 PM

now i have to go work on DD's birthday cake---what do i make?

GONNABE165 03-14-2008 03:25 PM

We found a doc that would take my mom in today so she doesn't have to wait til June she is in the office with him as we speak :crossed:

Schmoodle 03-14-2008 04:01 PM

Fingers crossed that the news is good Gonna!
tk, she's two right? I'm kinda out of the pre-school loop these days... Animals are always good?
nessa, is it an Ace of Cakes cake?

OMG, DD went home with a friend and DH just left to take DS to the farm, so I just realized I am alone in the house, which usually NEVER happens when DH is home. I don't know what to do! Maybe I should dance naked in the living room?
BTW, DD1 took care of me not having anyone to be angry with today. She called and pushed some buttons, which she is so good at doing...
Okay, I'm going to do some vacuuming so I don't have to over the weekend, and then we'll gather up kids and go to my mom's for dinner. She called earlier to say she had made me some crab soup to have instead of pizza. Isn't that sweet?

FluffyK 03-14-2008 04:48 PM

TK - I LIKE the cake. It looks good, especially with that bottom part being thin and sleek looking. It looks very "modern". I know not a thing about purses, though.

Barb - how come you always get to pay a larger "portion" than Robert when it comes to bills, but you've gotta split the refund in half? You should get the same proportion in refund...

Cottage - I'll help you with Robert. I've got a baseball bat - should I bring wood or aluminum?

Pearl - good luck. Next time, if you're interested, you actually don't need those eye drops. You can just use regular Visine drops to keep the moisture going in the eyes and it should clear itself up in a week. They've done studies about it and shown that the drops don't shorten the course of the pink eye any.

ME - I got my errands done today. I got my niece's BD present. It was easy - she wanted paper and drawing stuff. I hit the crayola aisle in Wal-Mart.

The other thing I was looking for was piercing studs with a thick post. I had some, but lost the one post. The thick post helps me wear other earrings without trouble. Guess what? They don't MAKE them anymore! One clerk at the mall (which I haven't been in in YEARS) finally said to hit this alternative body piercing store... SO I DID! Nice suburban mom in tattoo/piercing store with 4YO DD... Didn't bother me any, though - I grew up with all the "scary" kids as my friends. So I now have body piercing hoops in my ears, 18 gauge. They were a PAIN to get in, though.

At the thrift store (LOVE thrifting) I found this compost crock for $2, got about 10 yoga videos for 80c apiece as well as an abs of steel (had one but misplaced it). DH wants to do yoga for his back. He's built like a tight end so it's pretty funny to watch.

Just had a yummy delicious snack of smoked clams (from a can). DD and I ate at Wegmans so I could have some Dragon Rolls. It's the first starch I've had, but minimal compared to my other choices. (I can't have meat today, so couldn't get a salad with meat).

Well, this is long enough- see y'all later.

Hello everyone,

It has been awhile since I have been on. I have been trying to keep up with the daily chats at night but I always feel like it is to late to get in. 1/2 day at school today so I am able to get on sooner. Spring break next week so hopefully....
I have been coming to the board for 6 months now and have to send a big thanks to everyone out there. In 6 months I have gone from 261 to 215 (46 pounds!) From a tight 24 to a loose 20. 45 minute mile and a half to a 50 minute 3 miles! I can use the arm rest on the captain seat in the car comfortably, get on a swing at the park (AND swing!), and with the sun on my back and my ankle together I have light between the legs!! Probably TMI. I know that just having been here and hearing how everyone else is handling life has helped ALOT. Still working on learning the computer ins and outs so maybe that will be one of my goals for the next 6 months! Sooo THANKS.
Just wanted to get that out.
tk- I like the cake.
ladybugnessa- Happy Birthday.
everyone else-hope you have a tgif day.

Have a great day and a safe one.

cottagebythesea 03-14-2008 06:00 PM

phxsunflower, what a nice post! I'm so glad you are finding success with this plan.

tk, I love the cake! You are so talented! I have to ask, what flavor is it? For your DD, does she like Blue's Clues or Backyardigans? You probably have her cake all made by now, anyway.

fluffy, bring them both! What are dragon rolls?

FluffyK 03-14-2008 06:18 PM

Dragon rolls are california rolls/sushi rolls. Sushi has raw fish in it, california rolls have crab meat and stuff. Dragon Rolls - as they were called on the package - have crab meat, cucumber slivers, avocado inside rice rolled in kelp/seaweed. Then on the outside, it had a spiral layer on the outside of more avocado. I love avocado!!!

I let my strict food "go" a little today - having a glass of Bailey's right now. I know it's not P1, but sometimes I know when if I don't give in a little, I'll slide right off completely. Other times I can get past it and be good. I think it's all about knowing yourself sometimes.

I have to figure out what I'll be eating tomorrow at niece's birthday party. They usually have great veggies with guacamole dip before dinner, then pizza. I can easily pass up pizza, but have to figure out if there's going to be a salad or if I'm just going to eat veggies and guacamole (did I mention I love avocados?) Oh!!! DH came home yesterday and had gone to the food wholesaler and bought me a CASE (yep, 60) avocados. He used to bring me home a pint of ice cream every now and then, so he said he was scrambling to figure out what treat he could bring me that wouldn't sabotage my efforts. :D Gotta love the man for being so thoughtful. Not sure how long it will take me to get through 60 avocados, but they'll stay for quite a while in the fridge. (They're not quite ripe until I let them set out a couple days).

Phx - we each have our own little victories, so I don't think it's TMI!!!
