Friday night and I'm not at the Brew Pub ;)
Thanks for the cheers and encouragement. Today at the doctor's she looked through my files and asked if I realized I'd lost 50 lbs since I was there last summer. Well yeah, that was kind of the point :carrot: She was asking lots of questions because she has so many patients who want to lose weight but have trouble sticking to it and apparently I have a great attitude. If only she knew ;) My goal reward may be more exercise equipment, go figure. Dr. says in her opinion no running but I can check with the surgeon who worked on my other knee and ask her too. She suggested a recumbent bike, something I've been thinking about anyway. Here's the lasagna recipe: http://greenlitebites.com/2007/12/16...quash-lasagna/ It's great as written but, of course, I'm going to play with it and add more veggies and Gimme Lean because recipes are just starting points :) Hope everyone is having a good evening! |
down 2.6 lbs this week!!!

Made the bean brownies, but had to substitute a few things and had four "helpers"... I think I needed more sweetener (I didn't have Agave Nectar, so just sweetened to taste). Well, it was not nearly sweet enough, so put some caramel sauce on top and it was good. Not only that, I'm not sure exactly what quantity of baking powder was put in as the 6YO decided to do it when I wasn't looking, then couldn't remember what he did when asked...
I still managed to eat one, though! Quite interesting how the beans turn out the right texture and consistency! |
Cyndi, that spagetti squash lasagna recipe looks fantastic, I'm going to make it real soon! Let us know how yours turned out, and what you added to it. I always like to play with recipes, too.
Today turned out to be a pretty fun day, despite it's lousy start. I went over to the girls' school to watch the "Jump Rope for your Heart" fundraiser, then Maggie and I joined some friends for lunch at the coffee shop where they have that spinach/Swiss quiche that I rave about. I also had a cup of their outstanding Curried Squash soup, and had to fight Maggie for every spoonful. She loved it, too. We both got caught in a downpour walking back to my car, and got thoroughly drenched! After Audrey came home we had some friends over for a playdate, and their nanny and I were able to share a pot of tea and chat while the kids played. Other than a hoarse cough, I'm feeling a lot better. Schmoodle, don't worry, hon, 3FC doesn't plan on going anywhere! Just a little technical "blip". We'll be here for a long, long time. :) |
Hello all! I'm checking in quickly because we lost the internet connection at the house for some unknown reason. I'm going to try to get it worked out tomorrow! Ack. What to do without internet?!
I'm down a pound from last week, so now I'm only one up from my profile weight. :o I've lost four since being home, which is tremendously encouraging to me! It's been a month, as of today. Tom leaves Korea in TWO DAYS and arrives back here in Jersey in six. No more Fridays until he gets home! We're planning a weekend alone in Florida if I can find anyone to watch the kids for me. I've never left them overnight so I'm anxious to do it, but it would be such fun to have time alone! Connor's finishing up his pinewood derby car with my dad so I'd better go make sure everything's going OK. Hope to be able to chat again soon! Kara |
I worked from home today due to the weather we had. It didn't end up too bad but there were lots of accidents so why go in when I can work just as easily from home. And I ended up on phone calls all day so it's a good thing I did.
Tomorrow morning, Brian and I will be meeting Robert downtown for a parenting education class called Families First for divorcing families. Brian will meet with other kids his age to talk about divorce and to help the kids understand it is not their fault. Hopefully Robert and I will learn to work together better. He send a somewhat nasty email today and was not the least bit patient about something he wants my lawyer and I to do. Heck, I haven't even had time to call my lawyer this week given the way work has been. He also asked: When is Brian's Arrow of Light and where will it be held ? This is something that no responsible parent should ever miss. Missing an Arrow of Light would be like missing a High School graduation. I'm torn about that. I do feel the Arrow of Light ceremony is a big accomplishment but I talked to my den leader who is the committee chair and she doesn't want Robert there. I think the cubmaster feels the same way but I'm not sure. I can't stop him from showing up but it would definitely make things much more tense and take away my enjoyment (I'll be getting an arrow myself as an assistant den leader). I asked Brian and he said he doesn't know if he wants his Dad there. I think the leaders are afraid of violence given he was arrested for assaulting me but the only restrictions keep him from the house and my work. |
