1 day, 0 hours, 39 minutes, 05 seconds...

Cottage: I'm sorry you're still not feeling well. I'm sure Audrey's performance will cheer you up. Stay warm by all of that ice!

Loriann: Sorry to hear about the child support issues. A friend of mine hated when her ex got thrown in jail for it because it meant she wasn't getting the check for their three kiddos. Poor thing. I'm sorry about your gain, but do you think you've put on three pounds of muscle due to all of the working out? It's possible. I've gained as much as 5 pounds, but stayed the same size or smaller because of muscle gain. Maybe what's happening with you?

TnTech: Good luck on your test - then again, it's probably over by now! Hope it went well. Sorry about your toenails. I don't know about anyone else, but that sounds to me like it would hurt...a lot.

, Cat and Schmoodle! I hope that you both have great days!

Spirit: Yikes! 0*F is COLD!! I'm glad that it doesn't get that cold for you in Nova Scotia. I don't think I'd survive! I'd like to say that I'm tough about weather, but I really am a bi sissy about it. Sounds like you're the opposite!

LC: Be careful with all of that shoveling! Hope the kids aren't too crazy being home again.

Cyndi: You be careful with the shoveling, too! I'm sorry about the 2 lbs coming and going over and over again. Have you found some new workouts you like?

Ruth: I love that quilt! I'm sure it would look gorgeous in your place. (Although, I must say that I have a picture in my head of what your place should look like and I could be completely wrong!) Hope you have a great day.

Kara: Have a good day! I wish I knew how to quilt! I'm very jealous. I hope you'll share some pics when you're all finished.

Stephanie: I'm glad you had a good anniversary. I won't be sharing what I eat on vacation this week. I'd be joining you in the exile-pile for sure! Congrats on you and DH's gym membership. I know for my DH and I, it makes it easier to get workouts in if we have eachother to go with.

, Gonna! Have a great couple of workouts today!

Me: So, the excitement is so distracting right now. I've only got about 2 1/2 hours to get the rest of the week's work done. I'm not too worried about it as I was able to get A LOT done yesterday.

We didn't sleep well at all last night for some reason. At about 6 am, the disaster sirens went off in town for what seemed like 30 minutes. Turns out a train derailed just west of town (about 2 miles from our house) and spilled a bunch of hazardous cargo. We're fine and as far as we know, nobody was injured. But, one of my employees and DH's boss are stuck at home as the train partially landed on the only road in or out of their area. Hopefully they'll get the mess cleaned up in a few days. I believe they're going to try and get trains running through by next Monday, but it depends on how the investigation into the incident goes. Of course this happens when we go out of town -- no loud train whistles at 3 in the morning!! I'm just glad that nobody was hurt.

Well, time to get back to work. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!!

1 day, 0 hours, 18 minutes, 30 seconds...

Stephanie, looks like you'll get that gym membership after all! My father-in-law was going on and on (while he ate an entire dinner plate filled with white pasta with NO vegetables at all) about how he didn't put on any weight until he started taking his heart medication. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the donuts he ate before bed, the fact he does no exercise, his refusal to eat vegetables, or the half stick of butter he melts over his bag of microwave popcorn every night. It kills me when people make excuses for behaviors that only they can change. Of course, I don't say any of this out loud (and I know none of you will rat on me), but I try to give good suggestions when he asks "What the heck" I'm eating. Gosh, that turned into my own personal rant now, didn't it?!

Gonna, I'm sure your mom's house is just too adorable for words!

Did I tell you guys I finally fixed the keyboard to this computer? For some reason it was set to some other language so every time I tried to make quotes, it would put a funny character over the next letter I typed instead of doing the quotes. Very strange. But I figured it out all by myself!

Kim, work away, darling! You'll be in New Mexico before you know it!

Connor is doing incredibly well on his work today, so in turn I have an excellent attitude as well! He should be completely finished with everything before lunch! And I just got a call from my old gymnastics coach from elementary/high school (she owns the gym) and she "found" spots for my two older kids in the classes I wanted to enroll them in, so now they can start gymnastics next Wednesday! I have to go out and get Kadyn a leotard or two, which I'm sure will be torture for my little princess. She was so sad we had to leave all of her dress-up things in Korea, so this will be a happy shopping trip! Maybe we'll even get it in this afternoon since Connor is almost done school!

Snow shoveling in Vermont. At least you don't usually shovel slush like we do here in Nova Scotia. I swear that snow has concrete mixed in.

Ruth that is suspcious and you will pay for noticing the lack of flakes in the air. Especially since we're coming up on March. We had a big snow in Maine at the end of April last year. They predicted about 5 cm. ( 2inch) When I got out in the morning after wrestling the door open I looked out on at least 3 ft. I had to push it out of the way so the dog ( lab/rottie mix could take a wee) This was after a couple nice warm spring days.

Kara I think the bigger breakfast is going to work better. Probably better to have the grain in the morning too. I look forward to that 1/2 cup of bran cereal.

I finally got my police certificate from Maine now I can send my immigration paperwork off. YeAAAA

Kim I die and I mean die in Texas heat. I lived for about 6 months north or FT. Worth. It wasn't so much during the day but the fact that it didn't cool down at night at all. It goes over 80 and I can't hardly stand it. I hope this improves when I get the weight off.

Well, I worked on my exam from 7:00 until 9:10. I did not get finished and the professor is allowing us to return at 11:15 until 12:20, so I will be packing back up in a few and heading back to campus. What a day!

I am happy to hear that no matter what, I can paint my leftover toenail/ toe!

Kim: I hope everything turns out o.k. with the train derailing. It is always scary when there is a report of hazardous materials involved.

Loriann: Good luck in court tomorrow. I hope everything works out for you and your child/ren. I never considered if the court ruled to lock someone up for not paying their child support, that they couldn't be earning money to actually pay it! Wow, what a challenging situation.

Spiritmagejkt: Congratulations on our police certificate! I sure wish my wimpy puppies would wee on the snow. They are just running around in the snow but refuse to go! They have to be about to pop!

I am back off to campus... back soon!

Cottage, I hope you feel better soon! It's awful to feel sick and have to trudge through snow to get to work, too! I love the tea idea!

Loriann, I hope things go well in court. Your kiddo's father sure sounds like deadbeat. Don't stress the 3 pounds. I know it's hard, but there's no way you could have gained that much weight overnight. Just stick to the plan and be patient...you'll see the scale change.

:luck: to you on your exam, TN! Sounds like you're well prepared. Congrats on making so many healthy changes in your life and reaping the results. The exercise classes sound amazing; there are so many wonderful, inexpensive ways to get fit when you're in school! Hope you enjoy them! Water Aerobics is one of my favorite classes ever--you have no idea that you're actually exercising until the next day, when you're sore!

Spiritmage, you might want to include more veggies with your breakfast. That should make you feel much more full. Good luck with the snack change...it's great that you're paying attention to your body, trying new things, and are willing to wait a while before assessing the results!

Good luck with the shoveling, LC! Use proper form and protect your back, okay?

I hear you, Cyndi, but we don't have nearly as much snow as you do, I'm sure. Spring will sure be a welcome sight this year! Hon, you are SO close to goal!!! That's awesome! It's really, really hard to lose those last couple of pounds. It's like your body is saying, "Are you really sure about this? Are you serious? " They'll come off, eventually.

Hi, Schmoo!

Ah, Ruth, I'm jealous of all the quilting! I have a quilt to finish that I put away somewhere before Christmas. I need to find it and get back into it! Love the attached hanging...and I think country stuff is wonderful!

Oooh, Kara, grammar and phonics are my favorites! So, I'd love it if you'd tell me how you make the crockpot oatmeal...that sounds like a fantastic idea! Hon, feel free to vent anytime...it's always good for us to hear that someone else feels like we do, and many of us can totally sympathize with that situation!

Stephanie! I love food porn... Hope you can convince DH to lose the weight in a healthy way. The gym is a great start!

Gonna, you are so motivated! : Good for you!

Kim, I hope you get everything done so you can just focus on the trip! The "no train whistles" comment made me and think about that one hotel room in "My Cousin Vinnie." I'm glad no one got hurt last night.

Me:
Wow...a student came in just as I got started on personals, so this took a while!

I'm feeling kind of achy and sore, both from some vicious sore throat I have and from a fall I had yesterday in the snow. I think it might have frightened our poor dog more than it did me, as she's making me go first a lot more on our walks and giving me a wide berth in case I fall on her, I guess! I slipped a lot yesterday--we didn't get a ton of snow, but it sure was slippery!

Gym and faith formation class tonight. I'm hoping they don't cancel class as we only have one make-up day and it's already used up from the first class, which was cancelled. There's not a ton of snow out there, but it's still falling and with tons of elderly people coming to the talk, who knows what they'll do.

Last night I really wanted to go back downstairs and eat something else after I'd had my dessert and was already upstairs for the night. I was journaling and tried to write about it in hopes that it would convince me to stay put, but it didn't. Thinking about it later, even though I journaled about what I thought was making me want to eat, I didn't journal about how it made me feel. Maybe that's why it didn't make me feel better?

My dear friend Mel had her baby yesterday afternoon. He's an absolute doll and has a full head of dark hair, complete with little sideburns! DH asked, "Did he say, 'Thank you verrah much' after they pulled him out?" She named the little guy Carter Allen. I think that's a really neat name! She loves that his clothes (many of which are Carter's brand) have his name on them already!

Have a great day everyone!

TN, our pup is small and doesn't enjoy peeing in the snow, though she LOVES sniffing it. Eventually she goes, but she has been much more likely to hold it until she gets inside and then use the nice, warm carpet... Our last dog was like that too...in the summer she never had accidents.

Done! I finished the exam, and I am sitting down to catch up on some reading. I made the apricot, pistachio, and goat cheese salad for lunch. I think I have Kara to thank for the recipe. It is now a staple in my menu. I love it, and I cannot even imagine my salads before.

Beach: Well our oldest puppy finally got brave and gave the snow try. Our smallest one refuses. Maybe because he is so close to the ground. I have put out a bunch of training pads, but it usually ends up like this...

Yup, gotta love my puppies!

Laurie, maybe if your Faith Formation class gets cancelled, you won't have to worry about the mystery snack!

TN, that's unbelievable! Your dog looked so proud! Congrats on finishing the exam!

Gonna, protein, protein, protein! Can you drink a glass of milk? I've been reading how milk is better than Gatorade after a workout.

My sprussel brouts are finished! Time for luncharoo!!!
