Does anyone have a good lentil recipe?
I don't like very spicy foods. I really enjoyed the lentils Lebanese-style when I was in Brazil, but when I try to cook them they seem watery. Any suggestions?

do you have a crockpot? they come out fab in the crockpot!
I usually sautee garlic, onion and carrot in a little olive oil then add the brown lentils, broth, a and often a sliced chicken sausage (I like the organic ones they sell at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's). I add the salt when they are almost fully cooked because otherwise they stay hard. If you like a thicker soup just add the water or broth a little at a time, as needed. You can even blend 1/2 cup of sou or so at the end and add it back in to make it creamier. |
