Well once again the weather man was wrong! We ended up with about a 1/4 inch of ice but not the 4-6 inches of snow they said we couldn't avoid this time! I think I am going to change professions, I need a job where being wrong is the norm! :dizzy:

Me DH is being just awful. I don't have a clue what I am going to do. MEN!

That was interesting. I just made the first recipe - berry streusel bars. I thought I would be tempted by those -berries and oats, what's not to love? The recipe calls for melted margarine mixed with the oats. The sight of all that melted fat really turned my stomach. Guess I won't be eating those.

Cooking is like gardening for me - I love them both because I only do them when I want to. I suspect I would lose that love if I had to do either day in and day out.

All of you sound so busy today-Not me! They shut the doors to the business I worked for 23 years!!!! We hadnt paid rent for months so landlord changed locks. Oh well its not like I didnt see it coming. I did pray it would hang on till Cancun trip. Will look for job when we get back. Not much to do since we're packed. will spend a couple hours on net looking for job, then go walk even if sun doenst come out, run errands, spend the eve with husband. oh and stay on plan.

Me: Just class and work, as usual. Not a great day in Statistics as I just got my test back and it wasn't great. It was, however, the second highest grade in the class, so maybe there will be a curve.

Ok, well, I'm back. Took the puppies to the vet to get their dew claw taken out and their tails clipped. I can't stand to hear them cry so I left. They are back with their mama now eating. She missed her babies like crazy. Forgot to give my son his ADHD med this morning so now I have to run over to the school to give it to him or he'll be giving the teacher a run for her money today. Then I think hubby wanted me to pick up his mom from the bank, not sure. Well, better get going to the school. Have a wonderful day everyone.

So far we've only seen a few sporadic snowflakes but the schools are all letting out at noon. Cindy called and told me she's picking up the girls and to stay home = SNOWDAY! :dance: I guess we'll all feel pretty foolish if this turns out to be nothing, but I'm enjoying it for now! :D

S.O.S. for Schmoodle! The split pea soup is divine, but how do you keep it from getting so thick? It was simmering on low heat nicely, but now it's solidifying, I just added more broth to it! Help!

Good Afternoon chicks..... Can you hear that???????? Thats right you can hear nothing.... pure slience. It is beautiful. Today is the first day in over a week that I have not had someone home sick with me. Only have 4 wee ones here today and one is upstairs sleeping the the other three are watching a movie all snuggled up. I hope this moment lasts for awhile. :devil:

bellaluna- I have dance class on V day, so we are not even celebrating. Maybe on the week end. DH never buys me candy thank goodness. We don't even really celebrate it much anymore.

Pacer- Glad the weather man was wrong. I hope ours is as well. They are callling for snow, freezing rain, back to snow again for tomorrow. I can feel a snow day coming on.

Me- Not too much, did a little tidying up and trying to catch up on laundry. Dance class tonight. Other than that not much. I have been maintaining which is amazing. Eating has been not so very good. Need to get my butt back in gear. Well must dash need to switch over the laundry and make the bed. Love clean sheet day. Have a good one.

cottage, it will do that. Wait until you see it tomorrow! I like it thick, but on the second day I have to add more liquid. You can just thin it down with water or broth to the consistency you like.

Wow! In just 20 minutes time everything is snow-covered! I guess it means business this time!

LC, I used to ski years ago, but not anymore. After breaking my ankle and foot 4 times now, it can't take it, LOL! I didn't go along on this ski-trip since their entire family was making a holiday of it, but normally I just sit nice and cozy in the ski lodge and help out whenever I'm needed.

Thanks, Schmoodle. :) I'm glad to know the thickening is normal!

Oh, and just be careful, if it gets really thick it has a tendency to stick and scorch.
