Horsey, remember that Phase 1 is about kicking the cravings. That was a big issue for me. Even though I don't have a terrible amount to lose (and actually lost NOTHING the last time I did the full two weeks of Phase 1!), my biggest devil is the cravings that keep me going back to the cupboard and the fridge, just tasting everything and searching for whatever it is that I can get my hands on. Eliminating those cravings was key for me in being able to be successful in making healthy food choices.
You have to make sure you're getting a good amount of protein for energy during Phase 1. Vegetarians can use any kind of bean (make sure the canned don't have added sugar), tofu, edamame, cottage cheese, plain yogurt, milk, cheese, etc. for protein. I was able to keep up my exercise even while in Phase 1 in December, and I do a LOT of exercise. Make sure you're getting a good balance of nutrients, take a multi vitamin, get good rest, and feed your body well! Kara |
