new here, starting SBD on Nov. 12th!

  • Hey everyone! This is my first post here, I've been lurking for a little while though. I just thought I'd jump in and say Hi! I'm starting SBD on monday (I have a brunch date tommorow with a special 4 year old, I'm not willing to forfeit!)

    In general, about me...

I'm a single mom/nurse, I live in southern SK canada. I'm 25 (almost 26!) and I've got everything to be thankful for! Unfortuneatly, since I've graduated nursing school (1 year ago) I've put on 10lbs. People like to feed us for some reason, and shift work does a number on your normal eating patterns and diunral rythmns.

I hope to drop these 10lbs, keep them off over the holidays and just generally try to allow treats once and a while, but start structuring my nutrition better. I work out anywhere from 4-6 days per week. I'm a fitness NUT! In march this year, I was 127lbs and 13% body fat. Basically, let's stop this upward trend before I am 190lbs again! (I've been there before.) Good news is, I've been maintaining between 130-135 for nearly 3 years now. I went to school, subsisted on coffee and cigarettes and went down to 118. Too low for me!

So, long and short...here I am, feel free to ride my *** and give me encouragement, and I'll reciprocate!
  • Welcome to the Beach!!! If you are starting on Phase 1 check out the new thread for Phase 1 and good luck on losing the last 10 lbs, always the hardest.
  • Welcome! Good luck with beginning Phase 1! I'm assuming your brunch date is with *your* four year old??? Girl or boy? I have a six year old son, a three year old daughter, and a one year old daughter. There are a couple of us around with younguns.

    Post often!

    Kara

  • Thanks for the warm welcome!!!

tomandkara: Yep, I have a little girl, she's the coolest person alive!

Today I made so much food for this week!!

I made a huge pot of chicken chili with: mushrooms, green/red peppers, onions, Beans, Beans and more beans (toot toot!) and tomatoes. It's delish!

I also cooked up 8 chicken breasts, steamed a head of brocolli and made a spinach and feta fritatta. I have it all pre packed and my lunch is packed for tommorow! NO excuses!! I'm excited!
