New Here.. Skip Phase 1?
Hello everyone. I started the South Beach diet last week - I did great but grew very tired of Phase I (and consequently my weekend wasn't so great).
Do you think it would hurt if I went to Phase II this week? Has anyone ever skipped Phase I? Thanks, Theresa |
I believe that it is recommended for those who are pregnant or breast feeding to skip phase one and go directly to phase 2. I believe it's also recommended for diabetics to skip phase 1 too. I think that if you skip phase 1 and go directly to phase 2 and eat according to plan you will still have weight loss, just not as significant. The problem is that phase 1 is directed to end carb and sugar cravings if you don't really have any, meaning you're not a sugar-holic or bread addict you should be fine. I think the only way to tell is if you try it. SB is a healthy way of eating so I see a no lose situation by eating this way even if you start in phase 2.

Thank you for answering!
I think my week on Phase I actually increased cravings for me (and I normally don't crave sweet/carb foods). I'm happy with my weight coming off slow - as long as it comes off. It's been going on too rapidly and consistantly lately. |
