Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Barb: Oh dear, you have such a demanding job! I don't see how I could handle it! Hope this all gets cleared up by tonight and you get some rest!

Cottage: How great that your reunion with the girls was wonderful! WTG getting back into your Curves routine!

Cat: Wakey-wakey! Have you had that second cup of coffee by now and it's woken you up! Have a great day.

LC: Great job getting that workout done! Hope it clears up so you can head to the beach!

Jessie: I'm feeling you on the "no groceries until payday" thing. DH and I have come to realize that sometimes SB just isn't do-able in our hard months, so we may spend a few days off plan until payday. Not the greatest option, but it's an option.

Kiko: I used to mentor at an elementary school with a certain teacher every year and I LOVED helping her set up her classroom. And it's really great that you and DH are going to counseling - I will be praying for you.

browneyedgirl: Have a great day!

Schmoodle: I hope your vacation continues to go well. I feel bad for your poor niece, I hope she's healing up quickly!

ME: I'm feeling a little sore from my workout yesterday, but not so badly that it's unbearable. I woke up a little late this morning, but made it to work on time. Now I'm just waiting for boss man to go through the applicants for our open position so that I can go over them as well.

Tonight I've got water aerobics and then for dinner we'll be having Mahi-mahi with salad and brown rice. Oops, here comes the boss, gotta get going!

Good morning all. I just got back from the Neurologist. I've got the unconfirmed diagnosis of MP (Meralgia Paresthetica) - basically a trapped nerve in my hip that causes numbness, tingling, itchiness, burning, sharp shooting pain in my thigh. There's nothing they can do about it, so it's managed with drugs. Right now I've got a Lidocaine patch that I wear for 12 hours a day... hopefully this will help.

I go for the 2nd epidural for my back in 2 weeks, and then to the 3rd Neurosurgeon in Sept. I hope he is in agreement with the 1st one, that I won't need the disc fusion for about 5 years.

I'm quite hungry today, and I forgot my snacks, and woke up late, so I didn't eat breakfast - just going to have to wait for 45 minutes till lunch time. Left over Butter Chicken.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Tuesday!

Well, I am glad I didn't waste my time with the test. I am not pregnant again this month. Fortunately I have only a little bloating, but none of the cramping I usually do. :(

Sounds like everyone is tired today and I am no exception. I went to bed early trying to get caught up from vacation, but it didn't seem to work. Maybe one more night and I'll be back to normal.

I hit the grocery store last night so the fridge is stocked again. I want to make the oatmeal bars made famous by Nessa. They just sound so yummy.

I hope everyone has a great day on the beach! Hugs to all of you who need them to day!!!

Wow, I'm tired too. I guess it's in the air. I thought I was coming down with something.

Best wishes to all!

Now gotta run off to work. Er, walk. Too tired to run.

i'm new!

Hey Everyone! I am Stephanie! I posted my bio under the bio thread, I don't feel like typing all of that again haha. Anyways, Today is day 1 for me back on the SBD. I am very positive this time and for some reason, I just feel like this is it. I am going to do it. I am typically a very happy positive person. The only thing I can say I am not happy with right now is my belly and that number that shows up when I step foot on the scale. I feel like everyone has their time when they seriously want it and need it. This is my time. I think every other attempt was just me trying to make myself feel better so I can say oh i'm on a diet. Those just don't work. Right now though I feel like I CAN do this. I have finally hit the point where i'm not even going to tell people i'm dieting, i'm just going to do it. It will be tough, but my mind is made up. Today is day 1 for me, day 1 of my new healthier, happier life!

Nessa's oatmeal bars are currently in the oven. :P I added 2 grated zucchinis and 2 grated carrots to the mix. Normally I hate carrots but hopefully the allspice and cinnamon will cover the taste. :P And I used a bit of hemp milk in it because I need to get rid of it- I can't get rid of it fast enough! We'll see how they turn out though...

Now I'm just doing some deep cleaning in the kitchen and studying for a Portuguese quiz! Ta ta!

JessieW 07-24-2007 03:37 PM

Where is Nessa lately? Is she on vacay?

Kiko 07-24-2007 04:01 PM

Nessa posted yesterday and mentioned that she had been busy starting up a website with a SB forum.

Has everyone woken up some?? I actually am feeling quite energetic today for a change. I just snarfed down an entire can of chickpeas that I roasted. I actually don't even think they are all that tasty, I just like the crunch!

Okay, back to work.... my deadline for this math stuff is Friday....

iammare 07-24-2007 04:13 PM

Charolastra00,

How did Nessa's bars come out. I've got a HUGE amount of zuc. and was going to make bread for the family, but if there's something I can eat, I'll do that as well. And did you have to change the recipe any for the added H2O content that the zuc has?

I'm getting really tired of zuc. time to start processing it for the freezer!

Thanks!

I am flat on my back with my laptop on my stomach and the screen angled so I can see what I'm typing. Boss sent me home since I look like an old man. Back feels better than it did this morning but still is pretty messed up.

I'm going to find something to eat and lie back down. Hope you girls are having a good day.

Barb0522 07-24-2007 04:55 PM

Welcome, Stephanie!

So far, I'm not too tired. I think I'm so busy that I am running on adrenaline. I did actually get about 3 hours of sleep since I slept a few hours before I got paged. Tonight we are working starting at 11PM for 2-3 hours so it will be another long night. I probably won't even go to bed until after the maintenance. I can do this for a few days before I crash.

I've been dying to try Nessa's bars. I picked up the ingredients. I almost started fixing them this morning while waiting for the application to come up but decided I might be a little too tired to be cooking.

charolastra00 07-24-2007 06:35 PM

Iammare- I thought they came out well! I couldn't use powdered milk as I'm allergic and powdered soy milk is WAY too expensive, but I don't think that was much of a problem. Mine were kind of mushy- but that's because I added an extra banana I think more than due to the moisture of the zukes- plus they probably could have stood to cook a bit longer but I misjudged how long the prep would take (not long really... but grating a few veggies takes up time!) and had to run to class! I kind of like them a bit squishy, though :P It's like the best of zucchini and banana bread rolled into one! If you're worried about the moisture, I would maybe add a smidge more oatmeal to soak it up, or some bulger wheat or something.

I haven't had a whole bar yet but my little bit was yummy! My mom's been calling me talking nonstop about her zucchini bread extravaganza (we have a TON of zuke plants so she makes enough zucchini bread for the year and freezes it) and offered to bring me some when she comes to move me in to college at the end of August. Honestly, I think the bars are better :P
