Default Tuesday Clucking on the beach

Morning chicks, coffee and tea pots are full, pull up a chair or a towel and chat a bit. The Canbana boys are looking fine this morning all oiled up with their sunscreen on

Thanks, L.C., you make a pretty good cup of coffee! Did you ever give in to those Joe Louis things last night? I do hope you were able to avoid them! They look sort of like Ring Dings.

I took some Advil PM before bed last night since my arm was hurting, and now I'm having trouble waking up. I could have slept in, but then I feel like I'm wasting the day. Besides, mornings are my favorite times of the day!
We're going to be getting up at 4am tomorrow morning to leave for the shore. I checked out a few places to stay overnight, but can't find anything for under $200 for just one night. I'm going to pack an overnight bag, anyway, and if we can find something reasonable we'll stay over, if not, we'll just go for the day. Jake could only get Wednesday and Thursday off, anyway.
I'm going to give the house a thorough cleaning and do a bit of laundry this morning, then just float around in the pool all afternoon. Ah, vacation!

morning cottage, I did not give in to the joe louis... I did post a pic of them in the other thread. I am feeling a little less stressed this morning. I hope your arm feels better. wow 200.00 is alot for a nights stay. I you find something cheaper.

Me- I am cleaning out the computer room today and going to get rid of a bunch of stuff for the yard sale on sat. I have about 30 tea cups I am selling I can't decide how much to sell them for though.

Morning gals!

LC, does your daughter still hate you?

Linda, I'm glad you're having a nice vacation! Float a lap for me, OK?

Today was Korea's Constitution Day so everything downtown was closed for the day and our Korean class was cancelled. But Connor still had martial arts, so we trekked to the gym and back, and then Tom got home early from saving the world so I got in a run before *he* had to leave for martial arts. I've still been at 1500 calories a day since Friday and I'm feeling good about it!

Off to do my Korean homework so I don't get the dunce cap in class tomorrow!

LC, check what the going rate for tea cups is on Ebay. Even if you price them too high and someone wants them, they'll offer you something.

Good morning. We have sunshine again and it didn't rain yesterday! Someone has made a mistake but I'll take it.

Little Chick, I hope those darn Joe Louis thingies are NOT in your house. (I used to love Mae Wests!) Your DD will get over her snit eventually. Moose on the road are a major hazard so you are wise to protect her.

Cottage, I do hope you have a great trip to Cape May and can pry Jake loose! I hope you find a decent spot and can stay overnight to make it more of a holiday.

Kara, good work at sticking to your food plan. Are you sure you really need to lose more? I think you must be a healthy BMI right now given your stats. (Can you tell I'm envious?)

I survived the new menu tasting at the Long Horn last night and resisted the new chocolate martinis! Describing it would be food porn but there is now a veggie wrap on a ww tortilla that could be SBD aside from the ff goat cheese. It was fun and I completely resisted tasting the new desserts.

This morning will be quiet around here - I may even get around to fertilizing my flower boxes. This afternoon I pick up Harry at the nursing home and take him to the hospital for a recheck on his head operation which looks fine to me. After that I come home, get a dog and go back to the nursing home to do pet visits. It'll be a "whew" kind of evening around here.

Whoops! The Girls are hollering. I forgot they were outside and they want their breakfast - sardines and kibble this morning as I forgot to thaw their real food. Bad Dog Mum!

I'm really in this to lose inches more than pounds. I know I should be measuring instead of weighing, but I don't know why that darned tape measure seems so intimidating to me. I've still got this ring of fat that surrounds my torso and I'd love to blast it away. I *think* it's shrinking... I don't like the frumpiness that bulges over my underwear elastic. I don't like the pooch from my waist to my lower tummy and I'd love if there was less to pinch in my rear.

It may be a never-ending battle, but I'm giving it a go. I figure it'll be easier to lose it now than ten years from now...

Good Morning EarlyBirds (and you little semi-Korean latebird with the shrinking waist)!

I'm catching you all because I had a late shift last night and an early one this morning so I'm sitting here with a cup of coffee blinking and staring because I can't believe I'm awake this early.

A great day is wished to you all. I lost 3 more pounds on my last weigh in so I celebrated with granola on Sunday. Now it's back to business because I want that denim jacket as my next 5 lb. reward.

Happy Days!

'Morning all!

LC, I'm glad you held your ground against the Joe Louis!

Cottage, I hope you can get away for at least the night. What's that saying, "a change is as good as a rest"?

Ruth, have you tried the goat cheese tostados from the Quick and Easy SB book? They're super yummy too! Congrats on resisting the new desserts!

Kara, I definitely think the tape measure is the way to go. Just write the numbers down really fast and stow them away someplace out of sight.

Liannie, congrats on your 3 lbs loss!

Me, I have my first graphic design job interview today! I've got my book together, boyfriend is ironing my pants now...new computer bag is ready to go...please send positive thoughts my way!

GOOD LUCK BETTY!

I'm not an ironer either! Tom does all the ironing to be done around here. After his three and a half years in the Presidential Honor Guard in DC, he's a pro! He even had to starch his camoflauge uniform, and wear special rings around the bottoms of his pants to hold them down perfectly. Not to mention the awful-smelling special boot-polishing concoction he used...

Ruth, I second Betty's recommendation of the goat cheese tostados! The kids LOVED them! I used feta as I'm not a fan of goat cheese, though.

Morning Ladies...off to a busy day!

Chick: could you ask the Cabana boys to bring me another cup of coffee, please? And good for you for resisting temptation last night...in both food and not wringing your daughter's neck!

Cottage: Hope you have a wonderful relaxing trip! I'm jealous..it's icky here and day at the beach would be so great.

Kara: Good for you for staying on track and those inches will fall off. My tummy is my big problem too...but I'm sure eventually both our tummys will be what we want...we just have to keep going!

Ruth: way to go in resisting all the yummies, but don't you just feel so proud of yourself this morning???

Liannie: Here's a hug for those 3 lbs..yehaa!!!

Betty:Wishing you the best on the interview!!! Knock em dead! Do you do graphics "from scratch"? Sometimes I have clients who want something that is "by hand", ie they want something "drawn". I do graphics, but I just use "pieces and parts" to put together custom graphics for clients. Next time I have one that wants something custom, I'll contact you!

Me: Not sure what is on my plate for today. Just finished up all the work I got by email from last night, but never know what the day will bring. I thought I would have the rest of the day off yesterday, but got slammed around 10 with a never ending list of stuff I had to do...of course it was all "emergency" stuff. I finished around 7, then the "shrimp man" knocked on the door selling absolutely gorgeous shrimp, so I ended up buying 20lbs from him and spent the next several hours peeling shrimp, freezing them and making a huge pot of shrimp stock to save to use later. My oldest Son came to visit for a couple of hours last night. My husband had to work till midnight, so I was happy for the company.

Femmecreole! Stop it with the food descriptions! I want to come to visit you. I've loved Creole cuisine sine I read Dinner at Antoine's way back in the dark ages of my teen years.

Betty, thanks for the tostada reminder. I do have the book and will check it out.

Liannie, great work on the three pounds! I love it when that happens - maybe next week for me?

I'm dressed and ready to hit the back garden but am waiting for someone to drop off some stuff "right away"! Grrr! That was 32 minutes ago and I'm still waiting! Respect my time! Just because I'm retired doesn't mean I have nothing on my plate!

Morning Ladies. Not only is the coffee brewing but so is a storm of monster proportions off to our north! Trying hard to get into the work mode this morning, I have several homes on the verge of closing all with their own unique sets of problems. Not sure I know how to close an easy one anymore!

LC way to resist the sweets lastnight. Aren't teenagers the best?? LOL
Cottage hope you can find a place to stay at a reasonable price, I think the costs these days are outragous!
Kara I know how you feel about that middle roll! I try not to complain here to much because I have lost a considerable amount (24 lbs) but I am in the same boat, I know part of mine is due to 3 c-sections and I may never get rid of that extra roll but I am going down fighting!
Ruth way to go on resisting the desserts, hope your day goes well!
Lianne congrats on the 3 lbs, that denim jacket is just around the corner!
Betty good luck on your interview!
Femme how jealous I am of fresh shrimp and 20lbs of it to boot, wow!

Ok time to suck it up and get to work! Have a great day all, check back later!
