Kara - It is a good thing, indeed. :D A size 4 is just inconceivable to me. Even though I'm not far from it, I've still got the 'fat me' in my head that loves to tell me certain things will forever be out of my reach. Bad, bad, voice in my head :dizzy:

On a seperate note, are you looking forward to turning 30? So far, I'm enjoying my 30's very much. Life just keeps getting better every year that goes by.

Sary, I had a hard time letting go of my 8s. I have been a size 8 since high school maybe? I just don't remember a time when I wasn't a size 8. I think I went from kids' sizes to an 8. There was a time in there when I flirted with 10s, and a time when I should have been a 10 but squeezed into my 8s. I just haven't really ever picked up a 6 - I think because I was afraid it wouldn't fit and I'd be disappointed. Even when I started losing this time and my 8s were ridiculously baggy, I still thought of myself as a size 8. That's just how it's always been. But I went shopping with my sister and she made me try on a size 6. It fit! I couldn't believe it. I don't know why. Then my 6s got loose and so I took a big huge deep breath (I think there's a whole thread I wrote about this) and went shopping and tried on a 4. And it fit.

In my head, I'm still that size 8. I have a hard time picking up things in a 6, let alone in a 4. I just don't see myself that way. Yet. I should say yet.

And turning 30 really isn't that big a deal to me. I measure my age more by my kids' ages now! As in, "Wow, I'm getting old, my son is five! Wonder how I'll feel when he turns ten!" Strange, I know. No one has ever accused me of being normal!!!

Kara - wow, your story about the 8's sounds just like me. Hopefully soon I'll be posting a similar story about trying on my first pair of size 4's....
