New to it all.........

  • hello to everyone my name is Amy and i have been reading you guys daily for at least one month. I feel kind of like that girl in the lunch room trying to get up her nerve to approach the "cool kids" table. Im new to this form of communication but am a very big fan of South Beach.

    I followed SB for about three months with great success but found myself falling back into old habits and the weight has returned. I have what I call a "front butt" , a large abdomen that always shows in my clothes. SB was the best for targeting this area. I love to race walk but the return of the extra pounds has slowed my 5K time down that im lucky to finish in the top 10

    I hope to walk my first half marathon in july so i need to focus on my body and get this weight back down. You guys have been my nightly motivation and tonight i decided to join in. Phase one starts in the am. Together we all can be a strong support system for each other, each one of you have already been that for me.

  • Hey welcome2myworld. I would love to buddy up with you. I am starting Phase 1 all over again in the morning as well. I really need to target my stomach too. My tummy has gotten pretty flabby after my second baby, he's 8 months now. We could keep each other on track. I also am going to really try to start walking, walking, walking. Let me know if you want to be buddies!

    Tons of support here. I'm fairly new too and as a mother of 3 the youngest of which just turned 2, I am all too familiar with the post-baby tummy. Good luck to both of you. There's always someone here to answer your questions and pick u up when you're feeling down. So you have both found the right place.

    about being the "cool kids!" We're all in this together, and I'm so glad you've posted--we definitely don't bite. (unless you look a lot like whatever we're craving at the moment...or come with chocolate chips. )

    Amy, you cracked me up with the "front butt" idea...oh, I totally have one of those too...and a little 'butt' on top of it! But you're right about SBD working incredibly well on that...but also with the rest of your body too. I woke up one morning (I swear!) and half my (real) butt was GONE!!! No kidding! Even after gaining 20 lbs back over vacations and holidays in Nov. and Dec., I still have a little butt! Who would've guessed?

    WOW about doing any kind of marathon...that's AWESOME!!!
