Sardines
What type of sardines do you eat? (if you do)
There are so many out there I dont know which to try. |
I like canned sardines... I am used to it from since childhood. Brunswick sardines.. I used to have them in oil but drain off the oil..I think it is tastier.. but the healthier option would be in spring water or actualy now they have them in various flavoured sauces... I usualy dont like to eat teh liquids that come in canned food... no reason I just think it tastes "canny". so I dont bother getting teh flavoured sauces types.
one of my favourite snacks in a can of sardines, smashed up with a fork and mixed in with finely chopped onions and black pepper with a squeeze of lime or lemon. I eat it with crackers or whole wheat bread.mmmm... it may not bee that yummy... I think it is just comfort food for me becasue I have fond memories of it from childhood |
I like the ones in mustard sauce best. I've also tried the ones in lemon juice and in tomato sauce, and they're both good too. :)

Hi Kathy,
You can cook sardines like the Portuguese chefs do. Buy fresh sardines at your fish store. Wash them, then brush evoo on them and your can either grill them or put them in the oven. The skin becomes very crispy and they are delicious. You can also use smelts as well as sardines. :hun: |
