ewwww my hubby had that flu-bug, I'm glad you're back up. At least something like the flu isn't going to derail your diet plan, I'm sure you didn't feel much like eating anyway.
Pretty neat and very lucky about your tree. There's this fairly large branch stuck in my yard that just looks like a bare tree and I've been meaning to ask DH where it came from. Finally I said "when on earth did you plan a tree there adn why?" He laughs, he didn't, it's just a branch that got blown into the ground hard enought to stick straight up, lol |
hahahahahaha Okay, I'm giggling first thing in the morning! Thanks for that! I really needed it. DD woke up in a foul mood and barely made her bus. Teenagers are just no good for migraines.... well, they are good for causing them, I guess. Yesterday was much better than my weekend. I managed 20 minutes on Pilates and 40 in the pool. The rain came again last night and the sky is still gray. It is supposed to clear up by lunch time and be ugly again before dinner. I'll get in the pool if I see the sun at all. It was really nice yesterday, and YES, I am sore today!
Last night, DD#1 called and will be moving back home this weekend. She just turned 19 and her roommate situation has fallen through. We told her that she only has until December 1 to find another place to live or she'll be moving with us to the DC area. That should give her the kick in the pants she needs to find a new place. I am just so thankful that she has a job and a car! DS#2 just left for school, so it's breakfast time and time to get the house in order. I'll check back in later to do my daily reading. This site is so inspirational and I come back to it several times a day :) No movement on the scale.... that whole muscle weighs more than fat thing, I'm sure because I already see a change! |
you betcha Kyrie! There will be periods of very little scale movement but boy will your pants fit better. I just bought new pants the other day and now I'm wondering if I should have gone even 1 more size smaller.
So are you really moving to the DC area?? I'm in Richmond...just around the corner (well it's a big corner, lol). Nice go on the exercise and soreness is ok as long as it's not debilitating. The pool should be great for stretching out sore muscles too. |
 Hope you feel better Kyrie. We had a horrible hurricane in 1989 and there were uprooted HUGE trees everywhere - it is an overpowering sight. Glad it didn't damage anything around you!!

Okay, TOM came to visit while I wasn't looking.... explains a LOT about this past week :D Still no movement on the scale, which now, I see as good news. Keep on keepin' on!!
YES! We are moving to the DC area at the beginning of December. The wedding is the last weekend of November and the honeymoon will be moving our family.... such fun :dizzy: Sweetie is being transferred to the DC office and we're looking for a house between Fredericksburg and Quantico. We want to be close enough - but not too close - to the city. I would like to be able to have a veggie garden and we need a yard for the doggie. So, I guess the corner just got half way closer! We will be between and hour and an hour and a half from eachother, batmomm :) over52 - hurricanes are never fun! We lived in Port Charlotte, FL when George came through. We boarded up the house (a block from the beach) and headed out of the state. Came home to NO DAMAGE!! It was as if George had never come through. I am sure, if we'd stayed, it would have been much worse. That is how my luck usually goes. Tomorrow is DS#2's 13th birthday party. My baby is a teenager!!! How dare he grow up! Anyway, with the end of the summer here, he's requested a pool party. Great fun - bathing suit and 20 13 year olds - not looking forward to it at all. Anyway, I will still get myself in the pool at noon and will still get Pilates done while getting the party together today. If I can manage to get in the pool before the kids show up tomorrow, it will be a miracle! I've "hired" our 19 and 20 yr olds to lifeguard the party. They are both trained!! I knew that was a good idea all those months ago. Somehow, the 15 yr old DD tricked me into letting her go to a friend's house for the night directly after school today. Think she wanted to get out of party preparations? hmmmm Hope you both have a groovy weekend. Think of me tomorrow around 2pm Pacific time... we should be in full swing (swim?) by then!! |
good luck with the boys!! Yikes, I guess someday that will be me. Mine are only 6 and 2 now but someday...
Hey Vicki!! I don't think I've ever seen your name. Now I don't have to call you Over, lol |
So, the birthday party was a hit - sprinkles fell for about 20 minutes with a clear blue sky. Of the 20 invitations that were sent, only 6 kiddos showed up (thank goodness). Not one of them came into the house. It was all at the pool.
DS#1 came over on Sunday and stayed over night. We had a really good time. It's nice getting to know him again, but this time, as an adult. Sweetie was home, sick, all week until today! He's feeling better, and it IS Friday, after all. I found that there are things that I don't do when I have someone at the house with me. I haven't done Pilates all week. I did manage to get into the pool most days, though. The scale got a new battery after telling me that I'd gained 8lbs in 30 minutes. Amazingly, it's back on the down swing, again!! Ah, the power of the battery! I am up 2lbs from last week and NOT happy about it, but what am I to expect when I haven't kept up my end of the deal?? Today I am back to Pilates and pool time - on time!! I've found that if I set aside a specific time for everything, I actually get things done. "I'll get in the pool sometime today" isn't working as well as "I will get in the pool at noon, today." So, I'll get in the pool at noon today... Pilates at nine. The scale thing had me really down over the last couple days. TOM has come and gone, so I know, in my head, the reasons for the fluctuation, but my head and my heart don't always work together. So, depression comes and goes, too..... Today is a good day, though. I have set mini goals for the day and will get as much done as possible for me. Nothing big, of course, as I don't want to disappoint myself. :^: Hope everyone has a groovy day!
