Time for me to get serious again. I'm in the middle of planning my grocery list. I shop on Friday mornings and get 1 week's worth of food. I have a bad habit of planning my dinners to the exact meaurement and forgetting to really think about lunch or healthy snacks. This week, as it's only my husband, my daughter and myself and most of the recipes are for at least 4 servings, I'm just gonna plan to have left-overs for lunch. I always dish up our dinner plates so I'll automatically do my lunch and put it in the fridge so it doesn't get eaten! Breakfast is easy because I always have wg cereal or porridge with alot of fruit (I found dried summer fruits and berries in the baking section and always toss in a big handful). We're having:
- Charcooked veggies (from the Wholefoods forum Recipe thread) probably with chicken and some favored rice for the hubby and daughter - Greek pizza using the ww pizza base that...ohhhh...someone (maybe Batmomm?) posted - Tuscan chicken (in Sonoma recipe thread) - Crockpot cacciatore (in Sonoma recipe thread) - Pumpkin chili (thanks, LindaT!) - Gumbo ( in Sonoma recipe thread) - Greek chicken (I think this is a LindaT recipe, as well) Mmmmm, my mouth is watering just thinking about these meals! My dinners are generally always Sonoma-friendly but have gotten a bit boring, lately. Now that the weather here is cooler, it's time to spice things up again! |
good for you Mummy! And yep it was me, it really is quite tasty dough and very filling!
There really is a huge difference between eating Sonoma-friendly and actually Sonoma type recipes. Even if it's not bad a lot of times I get stuck in the boring food rut and then think it's this darned diet...it's not, it's what I'mmaking so good for you getting a good game plan! I made the most delish stuffed peppers-shredded chicken, onions and half a jar of green salsa, stuffed into peppers and baked. Oh too good and too easy!! |
:flow2: Menus really help me. I take out what I am going to cook the night before and like you Mummytummy I make 4 servings and my husband and I take leftovers. Your stuffed peppers sound delicious Batmomm:chef: We are going to a conference next week and I am going to really have to try hard to stay good.:tired: I will do the best I can, that is all I can do.

nice going, I expected to be today but haven't seen it yet... chicken asparagus sounds yummy! I notice you eat a lot of black beans. Have you tried the Hanover seasoned ones? they really up the flavor of anything, lots of garlic and onion. |
 Thanks Batmomm - it has been a slow one and I am not sure how this coming week is going to go. May have to go back to Phase 1 when I get back, we will see. I have not tried the Hanover Black beans, I will look for them. I love them!! Keep exercising like you are and you will loose it!
B- WG toast w/pb S- 1/2 apple L- leftover chicken asparagus grain dish S- cheese, almonds S:?: Kashi whole grain bar, cashews.....cheese stick (there goes the 1 pound) Dinner- Grilled tuna grilled salad wine |
Okay, I have to say that the charcooked veggies from the wholefoods forum were absolutely excellent! And so was the spicy salsa/dressing that accompanies it. I'll post it in the recipes section. You guys have GOT to try it.
