Sonoma Veterans

Hi! I am thinking about trying this way of eating. I was wondering how you all like it, and how easy the program is to follow. I have tried Atkins and several others, but I find myself feeling empty with the heavy restrictions. I'd love to hear your results and feedback. Thanks for responding!

I just finished Wave 1: 8 pounds in 10 days! Never have lost so much before on anything. I did go over the grain allowance a couple days, but other than that it did help with the sugar/ice cream cravings. Was on WW for a while, but found that "eat whatever you want in moderation" didn't work longterm for me. Seemed like I was always hungry, and there were a lot of weeks where I didn't lose, or lost just a pound. Needed the strict structure that Wave 1 provides. Now I'm just getting into the second round, and am somewhat confused as to portion sizes. Seems like the food list says one thing, and the sample meal plan says another.

My mother's neighbor has lost a lot of weight doing a lot of Sonoma-like things--cutting out sugar and white flour, eating veggies & nuts, etc. I think I'll probably wind up adapting the Wave 2 in a similar way. But even if I have more fruit than is allowed, I'm sure I'll lose weight. Gotta be better than the drive-thru menu I was on before!

Get the book, try it! I can't imagine sticking with Atkins for more than a couple days. If you had the willpower to do that, you can surely get through Wave 1. This is really good, healthy food. It takes planning, but I really didn't feel deprived.

Hi there, just wanted to tell you that I love this new lifestyle. It has now been 10 weeks and I have already lost 32 pounds. The Sonoma way of life retrains your metabolism, so I find that if I have a day where I cannot follow "the rules" it is not a big deal. I just just advise to stick to the 10 days of Wave 1, it makes a difference.

I am losing weight like crazy, I feel healthier and everyone can see it now. Most of my clothes are too big now but I have been pulling out some of the old jeans and pants from the back of the closet that I figured I would never wear again. I am not wanting to spend anything on clothes just yet because I still have a long way to go but that is OK, I will get there.

I wish you all the luck in your new lifestyle, you will enjoy the results.
