Weight loss in phase 3

  • For those of you in phase two and three:
I slacked off in phase 2 the first time around. Even though I slacked off, I still managed to lose just under 15lbs. I have my motivation back(less stress!). My question is, have you noticed the weight loss seems to stay right around 2lbs a week or less than that? Have any of you experienced plateaus during phase 2 and 3? It seems only natural.
I would love to hear about some of your experiences in phase 2 and 3. We have plenty of posts about phase 1, but few about phase 2 and 3.
  • I'll share my experience so far, but I am beginning to think that I am just one of those people who loses weight extremely slowly. In addition, I was looking to make a lifestyle change for better health, with weight loss as a secondary objective. So my experience is probably not typical of most people on this diet.

I started Wave 1 on Jan. 4 and ended Jan. 13. I lost about 3 pounds on Wave 1, which is very rapid for me (prior to Sonoma, from Aug. 31 to Dec. 28 I went from 183 to 186 to 179 -- yep, lost 4 pounds in 4 months).

I have been on Wave 2 more or less since Jan. 16. When I first started, I was pretty strict and lost about 1 pound a week, which is a lot for me. I have had some ups and downs in my life since then and slacked off on both my eating and exercising. Of course, the weight loss has slowed. I've been stuck at this weight for about 5 weeks.

Another thing I should share is that I believe I have inadvertently turned Wave 2 into Wave 3, which is meant to be maintenance. Therefore, I eat non-Sonoma stuff pretty frequently. But the good news is that I am not gaining and I love what I eat. I usually don't crave non-Sonoma stuff but I just "go with it" when I eat out or at someone's house. In fact, in February I was sick, too sick to shop or cook so my husband was bringing home food. I could not wait to get back to Sonoma-friendly food because it just tastes better to me now.

Now I would like to lose some more weight (fat not muscle). At this point in my life, I am ready to be strict for a while and will cut some of the non-Sonoma stuff, reduce my portion sizes that had been creeping up, and eat more veggies.

Hope some other people post because I'd like to hear about other experiences, too.
