Newbie saying Hi

I'm Kelli 39 mother of 2 boys. I need to lose 30-40 lbs. I refuse to buy any larger size clothes!:( Today is my first day on the Sonoma diet.:carrot: I had a hysterectomy 10 days ago and have read the book during my recovery. I like this type of food, I have bad portion control. I hope to get some of the junk out of the house that the kids eat. I have noticed some extra pounds on everyone in our home. I will feed my family Sonoma dinners. I can't workout yet due to my surgery but I will start when the Doctor clears me. I can get my eating in order now. I look foward to sharing with you all. Glad I found you:)
Kelli

Welcome, Kelli! Glad to have you with us and anxious to cheer you through your progress. The food is terrific, and if you enjoy cooking, it's a nice outlet. Rest up and get better first and then you can move with us, too. Welcome!!

PS - I have two boys, too. Mine are suddenly all grown up at nearly 20 and 22, both in college. :-)

Thanks for the warm welcome. My first day went well and my family loved dinner. I made a beef with broccoli and added noodles to their dishes.

Kelli,

Good luck, I know my husband has actively started this program with me, in fact, we are restarting it tomorrow, he is grocery shopping as we speak today, so that we are ready.

We both were commenting earlier this week, that we definately felt better on the program.

How about almost 70? I am 68 and I have started cooking Sonoma/Mediterranean. I have some more weight to lose, but also the more I read about this way of eating, the more I think that it is the way to go for good health!:)
