Day 4!
I've started on Day 4, and finally broke down and took some Aleve this morning - it's one thing to have that sugar headache in the evening, another entirely to wake up with it. After some house cleaning and a trip to the gym, I think I might hop on the scale for a little motivation. Even if it hasn't budged, I can do anything for 10 days....and one pound after 2 months of no change would be enough to see me through to the end.
Had my first dinner out last night with a very considerate and supportive friend. I chose a salad with fajita style shrimp and veggies. My portion may have been too much (although I did leave some food on the plate), but because the shrimp and veggies were already cooked with a bit of oil, I didn't need the salad dressing. I scooted all the shrimp to the corner of the plate so I could eyeball the percentages, and all in all feel very good about my dining out experience. I think I'm going to do leftovers today, as some of my prepped veggies are looking a little less perky. I must say, eating out was painless, preparing leftovers appears to be painless...I'm loving this plan! And my dear friend commented that I was "GLOWING" at dinner. As I do not typically glow, I took that as a great sign, and only after 3 days. Happy Sonoma-ing!! Deb |
Glad it's going well for you. Aren't compliments from friends nice?
Regarding your headaches, they should go away soon. The very first time I eliminated sugar and processed carbs, I felt ill for a week. The second time, which was about 6 months ago, it was only headaches and lasted less than a week. Soon you should be feeling great! |
