What? No Chicken (Wave 1)?

  • I read the Sticky about the foods allowed on Wave 1. It just seems strange that you can have beef but no chicken or turkey on Wave 1 and wondering what is the logic to this because I always thought they are healthier than beef but I always find out I'm wrong about things. Maybe it is there and I missed it . I don't have the book but was thinking of getting it. I am doing WW Core and thought I could use the recipes but I eat mostly chicken or turkey for my protein (except Fridays during Lent). Also, is tofu allowed on Wave 1? Thank you. I may give it a go, thanks again and good luck to everyone !
  • Don't know where you read this but chicken IS allowed

Poultry — White meat, no skin; turkey bacon; turkey sausage are allowed on Wave one.. just not dark meat.

I;ll go check the stickies. The stickies don't list all the foods you can eat. The book is your best resource.. I'll make sure the sticky doesn't say you can't eat it.

Ok, it just wasn't listed.. I added white meat poultry to the list

    Thanks,
  • There must be something missing in the place you read or maybe you missed something.

These are the allowed proteins in wave 1 in the Sonoma diet: beans/legumes (1/2 cup), lean beef, eggs, fish, deer, elk, bison, lamb, peanut butter, pork, poultry (chicken, turkey, etc.--white meat only), veal, soy substitues.
