How to get started?
Hi all,
From all I've read on this site and from all your posts, I think this is the plan for me. I am unable to get the book til next week so I'm wondering if any of you can tell me what I can be doing now (before I get the book). Thanks for any and all input. |
Kristi, Welcome. You've been given the gift of TIME!! That's great.
Plan plan plan is what I say. Read the recipe thread and the stickies above. Since you'll be starting on Wave one, find wave one recipes you like. Find appropriate plates and bowls if you need to. Plan what exercising you are going to do and plan WHEN you are going to do them. Do not let exercise be something negotiable, because as I've said to everyone here.. Even if we never lose another pound in our lives, we MUST make exercise a regular part of our lives for good health. Skinny doesn't necessarily mean healthy and this plan is for good health. Look at videos, clean up your bike, dust off the gym membership card. Start cleaning the junk food out of your kitchen. You might not be able to get specific now, but I can tell you to get rid of the chips, ding dongs, cakes, cookies, puddings..yes even the sugar free ones, and other assorted stuff. Look for things prepackaged.. rice a roni, noodle mixes, white pata, white rice.. all need to go. Find a friend to take them or toss them! One other thing to do is find something to do with your hands. I don't know about you but a lot of us gained weight by the mindless TV snacking. You won't be doing that much anymore so find something to do to help you break the habit. knitting, crocheting, etc. A healthier life is waiting for you.. and you can get started right now! |
